    My Trip Report

Here is my trip report. This trip was unexpected. Hubby (aka sir edmond hilary.. see later) was asked to go to a Trimble confrence so I said yes, he'd go.. Before he even finished telling me about it, I was online booking our trip.
We flew America west out of Edmonton Sat Oct 22 leaving 8:30am. Got to vegas 1/2 hour early arriving at 10:00am. The flight was hell. never again will I book america west. The crew were on drugs or something had no idea about anything, the seats were so erect we were almost leaning forward as though we were about to make a lunar landing. No windows.. They were placed exactly beside all the seatbacks. I was mad.. anywho. Get to vegas and the heat is on. I'm bouncing around the airport and hubby is just trying to keep up with me with that sort of stunned look every vegas virgin has.. that  look. We hop in a shuttle and head to Mirage via Rio. Check in was a breeze. Had the deluxe room over looking the volcano and strip although you don't get a very panaramic view now do you.. Room 20048. Nice..As we wait for our bags, we do a quick wardrobe change and we head down to get our players cards and do the first spin. We see the luxurious BMW roadster pearched atop a bank of penny money storms. We sit down, each place 20 bucks in and promplty order some rye and cokes. We managed to each cash out around 70 bucks. The trip is officially off to a good start. I'm now a bit hungry and we decide to head over the Ceasars to check out the food choices. We end up in that food court were you order what you want, and pay when you leave. Not sure I like that as the line up to get out was long. We got some wraps and chips and salsa at the one stand. Total bill came to 32.00  They were good though, I'll admit that. After that we cruise through the casino and head over the treasure Island. Hubby instantly likes the feel of the joint. We meander about being the nicerly dressed white trash we were portraying that particular day, we find a bank of 2cent slots. Hubby sits down at the one and only Wild for Dolphins in TI. ( I paced 100 times looking for another on in TI. it's the only machine there) quickly proceeds to turn 100 dollars into about 220. Amazed at his quick progression to the High Roller/white trash conversion line, he says " I'm making camp"..I sit and watch for a while, sometimes take a wander and throw 20 in some other machines but nothing really hits me. I come back and he's still up. half cut and has a big grin on his face. This machine has a sweet bonus round where you pick a dolphin for the talent show. He has picked Magical Marty each time and done well. Marty is definately earning his tuna..
11:00am quickly turns into 3:30pm and hubby is still rolling with Marty. I mention we should rest up for the meet that night at CC. We cash out and go back to Mirage to rest and chill for a bit.
6:00pm hits and i text Kikky about the plans. We get back that its CC at 6:30 so we wander over there. walk around and then I see Jer and Kikky sitting waiting for the BJ tables to open up, I run up ( I'm sure they thought I was with the short bus tour ) and go Kikky, Jer Its me Sticky and they had already figured it out. We introduce ourselves and sit down and get some drinks. MN vegas gal and her husband show up soon after and then the hilight of the evening.. A highly intoxicated, barefoot blonde staggers around the bend. With one eye pointing north, the other eye pointing east it was obvious what was about to happen. She takes about 50 steps to cover the 10 foot distance to the poorly designed garbage can and sticks her head under and in. A very awkward position and heaves... heaves some more, gurgles, comes up for air and heaves again. The guards quickly come over to help the poor thing out of CC.. I'm sure she left her shoes there..
We chat a bit, dance some Disco and chat some more. I'm not a Bj player and hubby and I decide to head in for some slots. we mention to jer that if they leave, find us or text us and we'll tag along for the " surprise ".. Well, after more toxic lemonades that never really fell threw..
I'm sitting at the 1 dollar roulette and hubby is at a slot and we quickly sink into a drunken state. I don't know what I did at the table but I left empty handed and hubby just sort of slid out of the slot chair and we staggered back to our room. End of day 1.. Up probably a couple hundred bucks, food decent, drinks yummy!.. sleep much needed..
Day to to come shortly.. check back soon
    Carmen

crap.. this is why i wait until the vegas haze wears off, I forgot to mention that Marty and tonya showed up. we said hi quick but that was really all before the blackjack and disco intervened.. It was great meeting everyone!..
okay.. more TR to follow tonight.

I'll squeeze day 2 in here if it lets me
    DAY 2
wake up around 7:00am.. B has to register for the confrence, thats overwith at 8:00 and it's a free day!
guess where we go... DING DING Treasure island.. After stepping off the escalator, Marty is open for business.. B sets up camp again and i grab some donuts at KK.. Marty is on FIRE! B plays for hours while I hop around the casino lookin for my own piece of the pie.. We stayed there pretty much all day up, down up, up down.. who knows but we were having fun. We decide to go see some other casino's and press our luck there. We head over to IP.. B almost pukes where we walk in there. I mention this was were i stayed with the girls and he was in shock that we didn't opt for sleeping on the street instead of that place. We played a few slots, had a couple drinks and work our way up to flamingo. I've never really been in there other than passing through so we find some Marty machines and play a while. Getting hungry we head over the to the tropical breeze cafe and eat. Chicken ceasar salads and a phily steak sandwich. food was very good and cheap! we are tired and stuffed and b had to get up early for his seminar crap so we packed it in.. Walking back on the other side checking out the bellagio fountains. B see's the silver strike machine and wants to get a coin for our son so he puts in about 4 bucks and luckily he hits the silver strike and gets the coin in only 4 spins.. he's happy I'm drunk and it's off to bed.
Day 3, 4, 5 and 6 to come later tonight..

    DAY 3
Get woken up by B because HE has to be down in the lobby by 8:00am grrrr.. So, we have a coffee and I walk him over to the confrence. Then I head off to Fashion show mall. The new bridge from TI makes it an effortless jont. I check off all my friends items on their wish lists and wander back to meet B for lunch. I'm just about to pass Marty and I realize I have about an hour to kill still so I see Marty open and sit down. I put 20 bucks in and start 'er up.. I order a baileys and coffee and CHA CHING! 2400 points! yeeeeeeeehaa.. spin again.. BONUS ROUND! another 1200 points.. a few more spins and my 20 bucks is now 70 something so i promptly leave while the gettin is good. I cruise back to Mirage to meet B at our meeting spot which is the BMW bank of Money storm. I tell him my take from Marty and before you could blink, he's running over to TI. We set up camp again and he puts in 100 bucks.. Marty doesn't like that you see, and B's 100 bucks was down to 10 in less than an hour.. We decide maybe Marty needs lunch so we leave him alone for a while and go to a Money storm machine. We catch a good machine and B is happy to play it for a while.. I decide to wander around a bit.. I come across Marty and figure maybe lunch is over. I put 20 bucks in again and WHAMO I've doubled my money again.. I find B wandering around and offer him a free slot lesson.. I tell him to put a 20 in this time and see what happens... he does and Marty is grateful. He's going up and up and up.. I then tell B, now cash out, put MY players card in ( they are linked ) and put a 20 in again... IT WORKS! I SWEAR!... he goes up again.. We are now doing good. He does this repeatedly and we are up almost 200 bucks ( which is lots to us considereing neither one of us thought we'd really gamble this trip ).. This is the pattern for the rest of the day..
We decide to leave while we're happy and go back to the tropical breeze at Flamingo for dinner. The food was awesome but the service was horendous!.. Our waiter seriously didn't even come to the table. He took our order while standing at another table, didn't order what we ordered luckily as B thought he could eat more and the steak he was to have after never showed up and we were ready to have to pay for it and give it to the busboy.. Then, I ask for the rest to go and he litereally threw over 2 plastic containers. left us to put the food in and then our 5 plates of food sat on our table for almost half an hour. We left and put a quarter on the table for him and gave the busboy 5 bucks.. he just grinned and nodded as he knew the prick he had to serve for..
We decide to sit down at some slots and play for a bit at flamingo before heading to bed. Nothing spectacular happend and we cashed out with some tickets for about 70 bucks. Not sure what was put in.. Head back to Mirage and we are asleep early.

DAY 4.. Marty gets a beating..

Sorry the plans for the limo (the "surprise") fell through. It's on my Vegas to-do list to get all sorts of limo cards next time I'm in the airport so I have many different numbers to call.

Great to meet up with you & Byron. Can we do it again sometime??

DAY 4 Marty gets a beating..

Up early and walk B over to the confrence room and I am off to shop again. I have to go back to Flamingo to cash in the 70 bucks and I think maybe I'll take the monorail to Sahara and cab it from there to the premium outlets. I check out the monorail and realize, this might be a bad idea. it's pouring rain outside too. I go back into the flamingo ready to catch a cab there. I'm cheap and hate spending money on cabs but thought better than walking. I step outside flamingo and the 301 bus pulls up. I figure screw it, save some money and take the bus. WRONG IDEA! damn thats a long bus ride. about and hour later I get off at the downtown station and wait for the shuttle to the outlets. It's still raining so I am standing in the shelter. Anyone who has been there will understand what a crowd that is. OMG! The cops are :poke: the bums and the bums who hadn't passed out are still :drunk:inside soaking wet and smelling like wet dog.. ICK.. The shuttle finally shows up and I'm at the outlets in no time. The sun comes out just as I'm walking into the Nike store.. YAY! sunshine again.. I shop, get some crap and decide to cab it back to treasure Island. Hoping Marty will pay for my shopping, I sit down and put in the 20 bucks.. Again, he pays me back and I'm up 40 bucks and leave back to Mirage on the tram. I swear we rode that tram more than all the people in vegas combined in one month.
I meet hubby around 3 and of course, he wants to go see Marty.. The 20 bucks works again and he is up quite a bit.. Then it happens.. He gets a ticket out, switches players cards and the machine wont take a ticket or bills.. We are in tears.. " Not our Marty!" the attendant comes over and tries to fix him, but no luck.. On goes the out of service ticket and tape. We are crushed.. feeling like 2 tourists thrown in a thai prison, we don't know what to do.. B then decides to jump on the WOF progressives we've been watching while playing marty.. He puts in a 100 bucks and plays for a while. A fun group of mexican's are playing too and going berzerk every time one of them spins. They were a riot! WE made plans to meet up with them later before they left TI... Anyway, when they leave, B jumps on the one machine that seemed hot. Puts in his ticket for about 40 bucks and after a few rounds it's there.. TRIPLE DIAMONDS all accross.. Niether one of us can read the payout table and it's just ringing and dinging and going up and up and up.. 1600 credits.. so 500 bucks?! YEHHHHHHHHHHHHHAAAAAAAA!!. I'm now dancing all around and people are gathering.. it was a good moment.. I always get that crushing blow when you walk by a machine that is paying out huge and you go.. " wish that was me " and then to finally be the one where people are doing the same for you is awesome!.. I convince B it's time to check out another casino. I recommend NYNY so we can still use our players card but just get a differenct scene all together. plus, I think the casino area is cool there. We walk over half cut in 30 degree's and B is getting mad at me.. we finally get in there and quickly losses 100 bucks and he calls bullshit on NYNY and we leave quickly. We cab it back to Mirage for a nap. Then it's back to TI for more winning.

We are waiting for marty to open up again and decide to leave the WOF and wander around. We hop on various machines in TI and end up back at the money storm machine by Tangerine Night club.. Feeling pretty good and completely wasted by now, B puts in a 20 into the machine and with in 5 spins gets the money storm symbol straight accross the 5th line.. 10,000 credits!.. OH YA BABY! that machine is now going off, another crowd gathers and we're up about 90 bucks again.. I am now saying, okay.. we've done good lets go to Mirage and not blow our luck here.. B finally agrees and we get our sorry ass' on the tram back and in the room happily up good for the day!

    DAY 5... to come later

Great report so far. Can you tell me where this personal ATM Machine of yours is? Wild for Dolphins or better known as Marty? Will I need a treasure map to find it? I will be there in 2 weeks and would like to give it a try if you can steer me to it.

Marty AKA Wild for Dolphins is located in the rear of TI casino. IF you were to get off the tram, take the escalator down to the casino and it's the first area you get to. Right across from the TI gift shop. There is some price is right behind and some WOF progressives there as well. It's a fun little spot!.. Good luck with Marty. give him a snack from us..!
I'll post the rest of my TR later today... If Marty isn't performing, give the money storm machines a try. We did well on those too

Have fun. check back later for the rest of it

    Day 5

Day 5, wake up as usual. B decides to skip the confrence and we head over the check on Marty's condition. He's still out of service. We are dumbfounded. Not sure what to do, we head over to the WOF again. B puts in some coin, I watch a bit and decide to head over to the forum shops for some last chance shopping.. I think.. crap, can't remember now.. I think thats what I did... Day 5 was pretty much all time at the slots. I think we ended up at ceasars for some sandwiches at the stage deli and then went back to TI.. pretty boring day I guess LOL... anywho, don't think anything major happened gambiling wise.. guess thats about it for day 5.. pretty pathetic when you cant' remember what you did in vegas for a whole day..

oops, forgot to mention we stopped in with 2 mintues to spare to grab a scicilian pizza from california pizza kitchen to take to our room. that was AWESOME! best pizza i've ever had..

    ONTO Day 6/ last day
Woke up, went down for coffee and sat by the pool while B met up with an old buddy who was there for the confrence too.. Later, we went up to pack and check out of the room. Dropped the bags with the boys and went over to TI... MARTY IS BACK!.. we promptly welcome MArty back to health with a 20 dollar bill and he is kind.. Watched B play for a bit and I headed over to Fashion show mall for some last minute shopping. I took our players cards to Mirage to get the cash back. Got 90 bucks and quickly spent it at the mall. B found a new machine at TI and spent the whole time I shopped on it. It was a tailgate party penny machine. I found it a bit annoying with all the whistles, car horns and other obnoxious noises but he was having fun for no out of pocket costs. I came back and we tried to see how long we could play various slots without putting in a nother 20.. we did alright.. it's now about 4:40 and we decide to leave Marty and TI and go back to Mirage for our last few hours. We go back to our original machine, the money storm with the BMW.. B puts in 40 bucks and we have some drinks and the machine is on fire. he gets it up to about 70 bucks, down to 50, and holds on to his 40 the entire 4 hours.. Then, we cash out, get our bags and we're off to the airport by 8:30.. Get to the airport and it's madness.. soo many people, check in is smooth and we're off to the gate for our lovely 3 hour wait.. it's 9:00pm and we are bagged We grab some tacobell and park ourselves for 3 hours of paper hangman in B's book.. He got mad when I did NYNY and he only guessed the y's and couldn't figure it out. calling me a cheater for acronyms when the topic was vegas.. GEESH, vegas newbies just don't get it...
anyway, we go to board our flight and all hell breaks lose as people are being pulled over for not having " doc's ok'd" on their boarding pass. I panic cause i don't see the stamp but pulling out the passes i see it on the far side.. phewwwwww.. we get on the plane and try to get comfy which is impossible.. what a miserable 3 hour flight home.. Land right on time, our friend Brian is waiting for us and we are home and in the door by 5:00am.. thats one hell of a long day...

B's first time in vegas was a success. he now see's why i can't stop talking about it.
Gambling, all in all, down about 400 bucks but it seemed fine with the constant small wins we did get.. Hotel was fantastic, I'll definatley stay there again. location awesome, food good and just the general feel of the mirage is great. not too big, not too dingy.. just right
Favorite point. B's win on the WOF and the drunken MAX bet on the money storm that landed him 10,000 points by accident.
Meeting the gang at CC sat night was a riot, only wish it lasted longer.
the Toxic lemonade will definatley put someone in the hospital soon enough
Can't wait to get back.. working on MM3..
thanks for reading, it's not quite the adventure like my past trips but fun and relaxing is always a treat..

    Play safe,
    Carmen

This is somewhat of an understatement Sticky :haha:

Not only did you gamble, you abused poor little Marty so bad you broke him and your hubby is skipping out on his conference to get a fix. In just a few short days the place has turned you into Penny Slot Junkies :evillaugh
Very entertaining write up  Thanks

Work hard Sticky... That's just fun to say :D . Seriously Carmen, I hope you & hubby make it back for MM3. Beating the hell out of a slot machine named Marty - priceless. I'm not a slot player but you two sure do make it sound fun. Whenever I do get the urge, my money is usually gone before my first drink arrives. Hubby being a Vegas virgin & staying at Mirage has spoiled him. I had the same reaction the first time I walked into IP  . Great trip report though - thanks for sharing  .

Sorry we couldn't hang out more. But there is always a next time.

Marty is alive and well. I found the Wild For Dolphins machine right where you said it would be. Nobody was playing on it so I slid in a twenty. I played for a while and hit the bonus round. Of course I picked Magical Marty. I made it all the way through all of his tricks. Nice round. Turned my 20 into 40 bucks. Cashed out with my 100% return. :wiggle:

I found Marty at Caesars late on Sunday night when all luck had abandoned me... it was a penny machine and I put in $10, hit the bonus, picked Magical Marty (of course!) and pulled out $60. Nice!

I've got the ITCH!.. and no, not down there

After a quick MSN message from Jer sayin he was just in vegas AGAIN, I was thinkin how bad I want to go back. Then, I just heard the song " It's raining men" which is the bonus tune on the money storm slot machine and I'm dreaming.. Glad to hear that Marty is workin magic on the strip.. If you ever need cab fair to the airport after a completely horrendous run at the tables, Marty can help out.. I'm slowly mentioning vegas to hubby but he's up to his nuts with work and can't think past dinner each night so who knows if he's up for it..

Keep up with the good reports!.. wish me luck in gettin there for MM3..
