Short version...on my way! Delta upgraded me to the second row (behind first class!). One night at NYNY then on to NOBU for the rest of the trip. Next stop, SLC then on to Vegas.
Flights in were perfect. Only one screaming toddler a few rows back. But, that's better than having an adult screaming and causing chaos. My room was not ready at NYNY until 3pm. Hmmm, that's the posted check in time coincidentally. I've definitely seen less satisfactory rooms. But this is not bad for one night. I immediately took off for CET land and started my quest for the 10X tier credits. Based on my math, it would appear that I'm about halfway back to Diamond status. That's the good news. Bad news-wise, no big hits or anything to really play off of beyond my BR. That's it today for CET. I'll give some play to MGM and probably end up bumping into the Mayor of MGM...@jpw711. Here are some room pictures along with one of the skeleton of Tropicana!
It's basically a see-thru building now. I can't wait to see it come down. I believe it's going to be imploded sometime in October.
Hmmm, I’ve never seen pix of the roller coaster from that direction. The few times we’ve stayed at NYNY we just had a small glimpse of it.
Had a very nice time last night with @annbrown57 and @jpw711 at Gallaghers. We all really enjoyed our dinners and to declare transparency, the High Roller offered to buy my dinner! (But, I think he really remembered that I had food credit with my room promo) it was a nice gesture in any regard! He came alone since Ann was wiped out after having not slept the night before. I was looking forward to seeing her again. Here are some pictures from our dinner. Notice that there are no pictures of any slot wins. There's a very good reason for that.....there were none. Yesterday wasn't a day to brag about on the gambo side. Mama said there'd be days like this (she actually never meant no gambo luck!) I guess I'm due some luck today and tomorrow though. Stay tuned!
Wishing you luck! Been here since Monday, one nice VP hit, but slots and VP have been brutal since. Added bonus, the water has been shut off in my Paris tower since 10am. Anyway, I left you plenty of money at Horseshoe , Paris, and PH if you wander over this way.
Moving day from NYNY to Nobu. Of course the room isn't ready. So, there are only two things to do. Eat and Gambo. Went to Joe's Seafood in the Forum Shops. Excellent Crab Roll and Key Lime Pie, which I had a comp for from signing up online with them. Wandered around CP and started seeing some money coming in instead of the opposite.
If my calculations are accurate, I've reached Diamond again thanks to the 10X promo! The prospects of reaching any higher tier level are almost not possible. But, I might just throw some play to those MGM folks tomorrow. My dinner plans had been a question mark, but I knew I wanted italian. Ferraro"s won out and I'm not at all disappointed! I've got some pictures to share. Started with an Italian Daiquiri, then a nice Caesar Salad and then the Parpadelle Mimmo, wide pasta with scallops, lobster, shrimp, asparagus and a light butter sauce. That was the highlight of the dinner. Oh, I relocated to Nobu and the room is outstanding. So quiet, very comfortable. Pictures to come tomorrow.
I wanted to make pasta this wknd, now I know what kind. My favorite pasta shape is pappardelle & this is a great inspiration, looks delicious.
I love Ferraro’s. My niece and I used to hit up their happy hour before concerts at Hard Rock. The HH food menu is great!
Back at CP and had dinner at Stanton Social Prime. I was taken off guard when I walked into the dining room. Dark with huge chandeliers and very well decorated. This was lamb night for me. The side was a miso glazed eggplant dish. Both were excellent. Lastly, an interesting shot in a restroom hallway in a large, lighted mirror!
