l've had no experience with snow, living in the tropics kind of thing. However that sounds like an enormous amount of snow, and hard work clearing it if required.
As l said, please all take care if you go outside and especially if you intend to drive your cars in it. It's 11.20 P.M. here in Townsville, 29 degrees Celsius and humid like you would not believe, should be raining with these conditions. Seems like it might be our third year in a row without our required rainfall, we are hooked up to a extremely large dam down south, but it costs to pump the water here, therefore water restrictions are in place at the moment. Different worlds you would have to say, similar interests so it seems. Thanks for your post, and l repeat myself once again, take care.

Enjoying it all - I only get to pop in and out of here so sometimes I don't have
time to respond - so I hit the like button and pop back out. I enjoy these trip reports
    - keeps me going until my next trip which for me has been the longest time ever I have
not been able to go due to work and family stuff. April can't get here soon enough for me!

Thanks for sharing. I have enjoyed reading it all.

Day 11 continued. Friday, which l think we may have all forgotten.

We dropped the photos off in the room back at Main Street Station Casino, there the Pokie Queen had her diet coke fix before going down to the casino floor. [ remember the comment about the watered down version being offered by the casinos ] She always had diet coke in the fridges in the rooms we stayed at, tea only drinker, so you can understand how she felt, caffeine withdrawal l suppose. Myself on the other hand had coffee and whiskey always available.

On the casino floor we both wandered around playing the different machines they had there. If the Pokie Queen finds a new machine she will sit and play it for an extended period of time, this sometimes proves to be a costly mistake. l on the other hand have a limit of five dollars per machine, if there is no action, then l move on. Now when it comes to these machines l do enjoy playing them, however knowing their expected payback percentages l play frugally. l always play the centre line only with a multi coin bet near the maximum or at the maximum. Most people [ including the Pokie Queen ] cannot play this way, they keep seeing the combinations that they are missing and then revert back to their old ways. Maximum lines, minimum bet, l find this method boring, to each his own l suppose.

After several beers playing time the Pokie Queen comes over to me with a smug look on her face, she then shows me her voucher for the buffet meal. I'm not even half way there yet, so this calls for some drastic action on my behalf. That could only mean one thing, Black Jack pokie machines. l find them hiding on the back wall of the casino playing area. l then suss out the reasonable payback ones from the rip off ones and then proceed to go for it. About fifteen minutes later l have achieved the required points for the buffet meal. l must mention here that l bet heavier on these machines than on the normal pokies. l believe they have a much fairer payout. Having said that, at the real tables of Black Jack, if the rules are good l have no concerns about ten dollars minimum bets ect., it's all in the mathematics as far as l am concerned. We go and collect my voucher from the club desk, mission accomplished.

    Four hundred to one payback.

    Five hundred to one payback.

    IMG_0221.JPG

With that out of the way l turn my attention to the Black Jack tables. There are seats available, they pay three to two for blackjack hands, and it's two decks being played, or so it seems. Therefore l take a seat at the table, smack bang in the middle. Now back home at the local they only have six deck continuous shuffle machine games, all cards dealt face up and no touching them. Here it is all foreign to me, l get told off for touching the cards with two hands, removing them past the card table edge and told to not turn over my cards so as to enable others to see them, and on it goes. l put up with it all until l have figured it all out. Then it was my turn [ you smart bastards ]. l called over the suit in control of the pit and asked him why only one deck is being dealt out of two decks? Surely all this shuffling is costing the casino valuable gambling time? The dealer is spending half their night shuffling cards, what's the go? He was put on the spot, l repeated my question in a different way once again, he tried to ignore me so l kept going. Eventually l got an answer from him, are you all ready for this? " lt's house rules " and off he runs, looks like l am Mr Popularity once again. Piss weak l think to myself, they are that concerned about card counters that they spoil the game for the rest of us. From that point on l refused to insert their stupid plastic card, telling the dealers it was a waste of my time doing it when they only dealt out one deck of cards.

l played there for about an hour, enjoying myself even though l did not appreciate all the silly goings on they did. Eventually the Pokie Queen arrives on the scene claiming that she had lost enough and was heading up to the room. l chipped up, and yes of course tipped the dealer as l know it's not their fault, then went to the cage to cash out. A forty five dollar profit was given for my efforts at the table, therefore l was not bitching. Back in the room and on goes the television and out comes the whiskey bottle, another day in paradise over, now it was time for rest and relaxation.

Tomorrow is another day, l wonder what it has waiting for us?

N.B. lt looks like the whiskey drinker sits in the chair at the back of the room by the angle of that lamp.

    Day 12 Saturday

The plan for this morning was to go and have brunch at the Fremont Casino buffet using the free vouchers we had earned previously. Therefore it was another slow start to the day, when we had finished with the room we wandered downstairs and just poked about the casino. All the while the Pokie Queen took photos of anything that attracted her interest.

Arriving at the buffet just before noon as planned, we were seated reasonably quickly, time for some nutrition. The buffet was the same as we remembered it from last time we had dined there, good fresh food with a large variety. No complaints from either of us. With the meal finished we went outside and caught a bus heading south to the Strip, once again, attempting to get to China Town. We got off at Treasure Island Casino and then jumped on a bus heading west along Spring Mountain Road.

    SDC11426.JPG

    Right direction this time.

We got off the bus at the stop nearest to China Town, then walked around the area. There seemed to be an abundance of eating places all about us and not much else. Food was the last thing on our minds at that moment, next time l visit this place l will make sure l am prepared for it, in other words, hungry. We entered an area that l assumed was their shopping mall, both upstairs and downstairs did nothing to attract our attention or dollars. The place was not like any other China Town l had been to before. I'm sure locals in the know appreciate this place, however as a tourist l am certain l missed out on getting value out of the place. Worth a look if you are in the area, but do not go out of your way.

    Day 12 continued.

When we had finished with China Town, we went out onto the road and caught a bus that was going to The Strip. Once we got back onto the Boulevard we started walking north towards our destination, the Stratosphere Casino. Our aim here was just to have a look around, to see if anything had changed since our last visit in March of 2015. Yes, the Pokie Queen was also interested in checking out the shops as we passed by them, you never know there might be a bargain to be had. At least the footpaths are not as congested when you are heading in this direction, understandably so l suppose, with what is on offer at this end of The Strip. [ now please, do not let this comment put you off visiting this area, definitely worth a look whilst you are in the area. ] We visited many of the shops on our way, but they all had the same old Las Vegas gear on offer, the type of things you purchase on your first trip here. All just to make your friends at home jealous about your holiday when you return back to the normality of your usual life. Been there, done that type of gear. Eventually we arrived at the Circus Circus Casino, walked through Slots of Fun and went in to check the place out, we had stayed here on a previous trip, good at the right price is my opinion. You would never have guessed it, but when l asked the Black Jack dealer on our way out what the payout for a Black Jack was, she replied six to five. Then she resumed her original position, standing there at a empty table by herself. l sense it must be frustrating for these dealers, wasting their time because of greedy, know it all bosses. l know what you are thinking, and yes, l have not seen the books. However an empty table is never a good advertisement for any casino, l hope all their tables remain empty while they persist with this bullshit payout.

Great TR so far. Really enjoy following along. I know you've said that it takes awhile for you to write these out, but you're very conversational and good at making the reader feel like they were there with you. Keep up the good work.

Existing the Circus Circus Casino we both gazed across the road, it just did not look right, there was something missing.

As always, we just had to move on. We were now entering the area that l call the Las Vegas Bermuda Triangle, anything could happen here, as you walk between the Circus Circus Casino and the Stratosphere Casino, and it did. After crossing at the lights we were followed by a fellow in a trench coat [ dirty of course ] all the way to the casino. He had asked us for money, as you would expect, we just ignored him and continued on our way, he followed as l mentioned before. l have empathy for these people, but we all know where the money would have gone. l, myself, waste it on gambling and alcoholic beverages. So who am l to judge. It can really put a damper on your holiday if you think to much about these things. [ no comments please ]

    05.03.2015 to 20.03.2015 Las Vegas Trip 215.JPG

Once inside the casino we went to the players club desk to get our replacement cards. Upon completion of that business we proceeded upstairs on the escalator to the shopping area. Whilst walking through this hallway of shops the Pokie Queen spots some cheap caps out front of a shop, on closer inspection she finds them to be of a good quality. Bingo, she would take a few of these as presents for the family, for when she gets back home, [ remember the comment about being from the USA, and nobody would have them back there, regarding the grand kids ] Entering the shop to pay for these items she spots a make up bag that impresses her, therefore she will also have several of them, thank you. Finally, l might get some respite from shopping, suitable presents have been found for the family. l'm sure that there was a load of relief for her after finding these presents, as we all know, yia yia could not come back home empty handed. Now she could relax, and if anything else turns up, it would just be a bonus. Yes, this happens on all our trips, gentlemen, l'm sure you all know what l am saying here, l cannot be the only one.

    05.03.2015 to 20.03.2015 Las Vegas Trip 245.JPG

With shopping bags in hand we now go back to the casino floor, it's pokie and beer time. After about an hours playing time we call it quits, no big wins, no large losses either. Out the back door we go to get to the bus stop, Fremont Street here we come, and it's Saturday night.

Thanks troe, l'm glad to hear that you appreciate the effort that l have put into this trip report. l think l have made a rod for my own back with this one. Believe me when l say the next report will be more concise. Casinokid68 comment was definitely correct. l am going to Melbourne next month,[ James Packer Casino ] and will do another report for everyone. However, l ensure you all that it will be mostly photos for everyone's enjoyment. The story will be, went to casino, lost money, went home type thing.
N.B. James Packer, remember the Crown Casino would be site on the Boulevard, opposite SLS Casino.

    Day 12 continued.

Riding on the bus back to Fremont Street we noticed that our fellow travellers were all in a jovial mood, l assumed that they were all expecting an entertaining night in the Downtown area. [ something wrong with you if you did not, me thinks ]. When we got off the bus, we went straight back to our room at the Main Street Station Casino to dispose of the Pokie Queens shopping bags. A quick freshen up was had, then out the door we go. Binions Casino was the destination, forrrrr, the photo while the lippy was fresh. Once that was out of the way we hit the pokie machines to get the required points that enabled us to have not one spin, but two spins of their promotional wheel. Whilst spinning their wheel there was just one thing we hoped we did not land on, the dreaded free fountain drink, total booby prize as far as we were concerned. [ remember my comment about the drink that l received at Palace Station Casino, and l am not a professional soda drinker like the Pokir Queen ]. We did get our share of the booby prize drinks as you would expect, knowing the odds. Since we were there, we had our evening meal at the Binions Café, only requiring a lighter style of meal since we had the big brunch at the Fremont Casino buffet that morning.

I just could not resist it any longer, I ordered the Famous Binions Burger with slaw, it just had to be done. Could not help myself, sometimes l am a real sucker. [ refer back to my comments on homeless people, drug abusers etc. ] Well, l found out that the claim was half right, that being the fact that it was a burger, however for the price paid, it was a acceptable / good meal, " famous " debatable. One observation l had while in America, was the fact that they/you use a lot more condiments on your food than the average Aussie, myself on the other hand rarely use any. Therefore the reason for my different opinions to others regarding food. l feel that good food does not require any additional flavourings, eg. mustard and tomato sauce together, l'd seen this often when in restaurants / casino cafes whilst there. Having said that, Chilli crab, WTF, l like both ingredients, but together? Yes l will make a point of trying it one day, but delicate crab does not need any additions as far as l am concerned.

With the meal out of the way we left the casino via the back door, crossed the intersection to get to the California Casino. Where we both were on a mission, collect two hundred and fifty points to get a free buffet voucher.
