I post lots of slot machine pictures. I also could not care less if someone scrolls by without looking or if they back out because they are bored. Hell, I do that myself with certain trip reports featuring things that personally bore me. No one has to read every report in full. It is okay.

I like trip reports that resemble my own trips best. But any effort to post any trip report is greatly appreciated. Trip reports taught me how to Vegas years ago, and now keep me going between trips.

    Props to all Trip Reporters!!

I view TRs as personal expressions. Pictures, narratives, back stories, video clips & gifs - it’s all good. I just like seeing a poster’s personality come through on the TR. So pictures of whatever is fine for me.

When I specifically think about slot pics, well I’m a slot player that enjoys slot pics. However, lately I find myself drawn to the food porn pics more than anything else. I think that is what I miss the most about Vegas.

There are things -- "excessive" or not -- that don't resonate for all of us. I do get Chef's point on this one. And though a fairly accomplished cook and a food nut, most food pics do little for me. Whatever. I post more non-Vegas than Vegas TRs and my Vegas TRs certainly don't play out like most. Whatever. Different strokes in presentation and consumption. I do want to say that context -- courtesy of words -- is easily as important to me as a raw pic.

I used to always do TRs on a couple of other boards. I would post pictures of my completely uninspiring Gold Coast room, every plate I had at the buffet and every big slot hit, which for me was in the $30-$50 range. And the great thing about it was that people responded as kindly to me as they would to someone staying in a suite, eating fine food and posting only HPs. All different, yet the same. I like to look at the pictures and since I only play slots, those are the ones I like the best. But I have never even thought for a moment that we all like the same things equally, cause we don't. It's just nice to have a place to share

Your title kind of baffled me because I always feel like most of the trip reports are missing slot machine pics, haha. Then I read your post and it seems you are referring to Video Poker more than slot machines. I definitely feel like there are more VP pictures than anything else, but if that's what people like to play....I mean, I expect to see gambling pictures for Vegas trip reports.

As the Queen of VMB, my position is that a Trip Report is really for the person posting the TR. We all get a little excitement and ability to "Vegas" through someone else's trip, but really the report is for the OP to share now and then to look back on later to remember little things you had forgotten, or to relive whatever excitement or fun you had. I appreciate them as a reader, but my feeling is that it's more like your own travel diary. This is why I don't like people derailing or sh*tposting in TRs.

Also, I find it pretty easy to decide if I'm going to enjoy a TR or not in the first few posts. There's no requirement for everyone to read them all. ;) If a TR has too many (whatever) for your tastes, feel free to move on to the next one.

I like seeing the receipts. I get a general idea of pricing at various restaurants without having to search for it.

It's also amusing to see the going rate of drinks at some of these places.

More pics of anything! Slot win pictures are a momentary celebration for the poster, thanks for sharing. Receipts and menus are always interesting because it can be so damned hard to find actual prices on the internet. I love seeing pics of places I’ve been, also like to see pics of where I haven’t been or might never go. Do I want to see more pics of five course dinners from the Venetian? Maybe, does that poster want to see my half-price happy hour appetizers? Who knows? It’s easier to scroll through pics than text, so I say bring ‘em!

I get that. But wouldn't it be more informative to post a pic of the menu with prices? I see those pics every now and then, but not nearly as often as the receipt pic

    Then keep scrolling...

It’s their trip report, they can post whatever they’d like (as long as not breaking any board rules, of course). Just like anything on the internet, if you don’t like it, you aren’t obligated to read, believe, look at, etc.

I appreciate most all of the trip reports and the ones I don’t care to read, my thumb just swipes up on the screen.

You're right, it would be. And it's rare to see pictures of a menu. At least from what I've noticed.

I'm guessing we see more pictures of receipts so people can show off spending $500

I am going to endeavor to post menu pics in future reports!! Of course, I almost always forget to post food pics, which I know people want to see. So it might take me a few reports before I remember to do it, lol :goofy:

I am assuming people take photos of their receipts for their own bookkeeping, to see where their money went. I know that's what I did when I used to break down my daily spending.

Most photos I have seen of menus are hard to read since menus are so tall. You can never make out the prices on the top.

Anybody ever notice how waiters always grab the menus? I probably wouldn’t think to take a picture of the menu while I’m deciding, but I might want a second look at it. Especially the drink menus. If I was only going to have one drink I would have gone to Communion.

We have no qualms asking them to leave a menu/wine list.
