Just came back from a quick trip. Was at the Venetian and decided to see what TI was like. The bridge from Venetian to TI is one of the better designed ones on the strip, at least when it comes to leaving or getting to the Venetian.

Anyhow, I step inside and I'm overwhelmed by the stench of whatever weird horrible perfumed air they're pumping in and mixing with who knows what. It was awful. There was also a flimsy sign that said no marijuana smoking posted right next to the entrance so I'm assuming that was the part of the mixture at some point. It was such a bad smell I walked right back out.

I will say that MGM does a good job w/ their perfumed air. In general I'm not a fan of it since it's usually just there to cover up all the cigarette smoke lurking. Plaza also overdoes it. I feel like I'm about to choke every time I step in there.

I didn't notice any funky smell when I stayed at TI last weekend. I wasn't on the floor too much, but I didn't notice it in the hall or in my room at all, which was nice.

I just have to chuckle at commenting on the scent at another casino when leaving the casino (Venetian) that has its scent turned up to 11. It must have been bad!

TI was our Vegas home back when, and we started under Wynn and stayed on for a while after the change. We hopped around after that but stayed a few times under the current clusterfuck owner, and have popped in and out since and have seen the bar set lower and lower and lower; it's a great place to park when heading to that end of the Strip. There is a decided funk to the casino, and not just olfactorily.

I was done with "TI" when they took the skull and crossbones down. And it's called TREASURE ISLAND (as I shake my fist wildly)! :D

I give the new sign the finger every time I walk by it. This is from 2003.

Do you mean 2003? I made my first trip in 2012 and that sign as well as the New Frontier were both gone or at least I think so...

I'm pretty sure this pic is from the early 2000's. Frontier is still there and that looks like the remodel of the Fashion Show mall when I was working there in 2001ish.

Sorry, but every time I scroll past this thread title, this song pops into my head. I'm a Rancid fan, lol.

SEMA, we'll see if we make it to the actual show this time...

Yeah, New Frontier was imploded in 2007, I believe.

Yeah that was a typo. It was 2003.

I also keep getting Rancid in my head when I see this thread.

How was your stay? In a FB group, there were 2 separate stories this week from regular TI guests. One complained about maintenance (safe, toilet) and another about housekeeping (filthy shower). Neither was happy with the response from front desk/customer service. Both also complained about restaurant limited hours or not open at all. But I think that's probably more of a covid issue.

If OP had enjoyed it... << TI was Sublime>>

@gs32794 I loved it! I only stayed for one night, but the room exceeded my expectations, the bed and pillows were comfy, and I loved the bathtub!

Sometimes safes have problems, sometimes toilets have problems - nothing can be perfect all the time. Things break. Lol
I didn't dine at TI, but every place has limited hours and partial hours due to Covid so it's okay.

I'm fortunate to be able to travel at all, and I enjoyed staying at TI for a first time! :) It was also cool being on the other end of the Strip for a change!

Good to hear. I've always liked TI as a property, but haven't stayed because of zero luck in their casino. I usually stay close to LVB and Flamingo, but have stayed a few times south strip. Even as a creature of habit, it is nice to mix it up once in a while.

By far the best double deck game in town. If your a drinker, you can’t beat TI high limit room.. Johnny Walked Blue was flowing in Sept..

Their Petit Suites are a really good value. I stayed in one about five years ago and really enjoyed it. My biggest knock against TI is that for a fairly large resort their food options are severely lacking. That being said, there are still lots of good restaurants within easy walking distance. TI is one of those properties that I really root for but for whatever reason they just can't seem to get over the hump.

100%.. I was playing black chip(s).. Pit boss gave the ok to the waitress. I asked her if that is how they do it normally, she said no.. That If bar was open waitress wouldn’t even of asked her for approval.. TI hands down best gamble and drink in Vegas.

When playing black chips in high limit, TI has regularly comped Blue...

Now that it's de-themed, one of my favorite nicknames for TI is the "CVS Hotel and Casino".
