Overall it was a great trip The wife and I really enjoyed ourselves. Neither of us thought of or even remotely discussed work. Drank, ate and gambled.....did I mention drink?
-------------------------------
We were supposed to leave Pensacola Florida early Saturday evening, but our flight was delayed a little over two hours because of weather in Atlanta(bad memories of switching planes in ATL)--very helpful employees. Luckily I had a 16oz flask full of Jim Bean in my carry-on---to dull the pain.

Just made the connecting flight in Atlanta we were the last two onboard, with the exception of the five that were overbooked. Yes, our two seats were already occupied by someone else. We were fine because they guy checking us in gave us two seats in the exit aisle (more legroom) side by side.
Unfortunatley, the 1st class flight attendant with the "it's not my fault attitude" quickly instructed my wife and I that we had to move....they seperated our seats and to add insult to injury, a 400lb women was sitting behind me (trying to recline my seat the gracious 1 1/2" squooze the crap out of this large women). I kept telling myself---I'm going to vegas. Then, I take another shot from my flask. I'm having a great time.

We arrive in vegas around 1am......I put $20 in a $1 slot that was located near the baggage claim and after 2 pulls I cashed out at $36....All I wanted was to have my 1st gambling this trip to be positive. We walked over to get our bags and to our surprise the diligent hard-working employyes at the atl terminal forgot to transfer our bags onto the connecting flight. Good thing my wife packed an outfit in our carryon...I was too smart for that.

So we wheeled our single carryon to the bus to head over to get our car from National. Then on to TI to checkin.

Checked in, the room was nice...not great but no complaints. 28th floor facing east--southeast...right above the pirate ship. Mixed a couple drinks and hit the strip....we hadn't eaten since Saturday afternnon...its about 2am now. We walk down to BC for their 3.49 breakfast. We hit a couple of the casinos along the way. After the meal wich was pretty good for the $ we walked back to TI via Cesears and the west side of the strip...gambling wasn't too eventlful. The sun was coming up just as we made it back to TI.

Slept 3 hours...made us a couple more drinks and headed down to get our $20free-play from TI. We ended up winning $350 on a Sizzling 7 $1 slot. We then headed over to Arizona Charlies-Boulder for the $100 loss eimbrusement deal. I netted about $150 and my was $96. Then on to downtown. We won a little there but nothing drastic. Back to hotel to crash. Alot of the evening has kind of blurred into other days....please forgive me.

Monday morning we went to play the $1 sizzling 7 slot we had won one the day earlier but it was broke...after the slot guy unsuccessfully tried to fix it, he told us about a bank of slots that he said we doing pretty well. We gave them a try. I was down $300 in these slots and ready to hit the strip when I hid for $200. Twenty dollars latter I hit for $600. We hurredly cashed out and headed over to Green Valley ranch for breakfast. The resort was beautiful....I used our POV coupon and breakfast for both of us came to about $9...good deal. A word of caution....I like hot food, but the roasted chilis are beyond description. My lips and tongue were on fire....wooow!

We then visited Rio and hit GC for their 75 cent hotdogs...what a deal...it was fun sitting there with my wife (we sat in the sports book area watching races and talking)...we had a great time poeple watching. After the dogs and realizing that we couldn't find a waitress for a cocktail..we headed over to the Palms. Played a little vp and then bought a couple t-shirts from that tatoo shop for our daughters.

We then headed back to our room to relax for a little and drink.

Tuesday our gambling winng slowed to a crawl. But he had fun....we went to bally's to se Jubilee..the 1030pm show.....It was ok...I think they shut the a/c off and I am pretty sure a nodded off a few times. We saw a big Elvis perform a couple songs....he was definely big Elvis. We also took in the Bodies exhibit at the Tropicana...the wife is a LPN---two semesters away from her RN degree, so the exhibit really appealed to her. My feet were killing me from the walks down the strip.

Somewhere in the trip we made it to hard Rock....won a few bucks with the new players club bj coupons....hit a blackjack on the 2nd hand. We had to eat at the Pink Taco....and yes we had the pink tacos. I had to explain to my wife the origin of the Pink Taco. They were delicious. The hard rock was the first casino that was truly serving my a tall Beam and Coke (double shot).

We hit terribles for the free t-shirt and the $1 something coffee w/ free mug from the gift shop.

Like I said in the beginning....all was not perfect...but we had a great time...I would go back tomorrow.

I learned a great deal of info from this site..which made our trip that much more informed and enjoyable.

Biloxi Bob Hey the Beau Rivage in Biloxi is back up August 29, 2006....Woow..gambling and the beach.

Bob...thanks for posting your TR:) We're excited for the Beau to re-open too... I hope it's got that same great feel. It read even though they are opening in Aug that some parts won't be fully open for about another 6 months... is that the same thing you're hearing in Biloxi? Tks, Dino

when you get separated from your bags like that, what happens? do you have to fill out forms? when the baggage does arrive in las vegas, does the airline deliver it to your hotel for you?

hope it never happens, but guess knowing the details will help if or when it does!

thanks for the trip report!

Sounds like a highly productive trip! You packed a lot of stuff in. I always get a kick out of reading where people go to eat, what they eat etc. Seems like my vegas trips include coffee and donuts in the morning and a sandwich at dinner. I like quick and easy.. maybe thats why I always seem to crash at 10:00pm :Þ

great TR!

I had to fill out a form and describe some specific items that were in each bag (in case the tags were missing and they had to look inside). The people at Airtran were pleasant and helpful. They called us on our cell around 8 or 9 am and said that the next plane in from Atlanta (or connection) would be at 10:30am. I called them around noon (from the bottom of a cocktail glass---I think we were at the 4 queens) and they said that the bags had arrived. They do/did deliver them to the hotel; however, one guy for the Airtran delivers all the bags to all the hotels and they said it could take up to 5 hours....I really wasn't concerned because they found the bags and my wife and I were having a great time! We were in Vegas!!
When we finally arrived back at the hotel....latter that night...I called down to the bell desk and the bags were ther....I had the bell man bring them up and I tipped him $5 for the 3 bags....I didn't know what to tip.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------About the Beau Rivage. From what I understand...the hotel, all the table games, slots and most of the restaurants will open the 29th. A few of the restaurants and some of the shops won't open until latter. I have had a good run of luck at the Beau Rivage...
Biloxi is still pretty bad......but coming back
--------------------------------------------------------------------------Again...this site has been a tremendous help and provided a great insight.
I'm already starting to plan my next trip to vegas.

Regards
