I'm sure it's only temporary, but the Thrifty rates for my trip this month dropped to $15.61 per day for a full size car. 4 days all in is $104.

I think it's because it is getting closer to your trip. If reservations for your time period falls below their expectations they will lower rates to get more reservations and raise them back up after a certain number of reservations come in.

I just checked thrifty for april and the rates are expensive. Over $300 for the time period I was looking at. I normally would expect it to be around $150 - $180 total for a 1 week rental. I think it will go down as it gets closer to April.

You're right, Maki. I have been checking rates daily, because of wide fluctuations. This is the lowest i've seen them for this trip. I'm sure they'll go up again. Just keep checking on your April trip.

yup, I always check on rates. I usually book them when they are reasonable but I also have a backup booking just in case the prices don't go down. At least then I have a guaranteed booking and I can cancel if I find a lower rate.

Hey, good luck on your upcoming trip!

I agree. My Super Bowl rates came down a nice little bit last week. My guess is, lots of people book for the Super Bowl, hoping their team gets in. When they don't make it, people cancel their trips, and a bunch of cars open up.

Still around $400 for the dates I'm looking at, that's for 8 nights though, still too much IMO
