It's by far my favorite property -- but the gambling is killer. I put nearly 70k in coin in last trip and my host acted like he was doing me a favor with my restaurant comps. Do the math on that one to figure out my theo...yea, significant losses where I was better suited just paying for the room outright.

So this has been more my experience at V/P. Although Im not putting in 70K in coin, nor do I have a host, I do my fair share of spending and its 10 trips a year. I figured a host is assigned to you when you go there so often and spend lots money.

Sorry OP, not meaning to hijack your thread. :biker:

Can't stress enough how you should stay there but gamble elsewhere.

@the nuts are you even asking an on duty host if they can remove anything on the backend for you before checkout? I believe you definitely need to be proactive and ask for a host. With 10 year loyalty it's a shame they haven't already assigned you one and they may be embarrassed, in fact, that you had to ask. Sounds like an over sight IMO, and I bet you will see significant change by spending a few minutes inquiring. May I suggest you reach out to Carmen Jamarillo ( I may have spelled that wrong). She's in customer relations and is fantastic at remedying any issues you have. Super nice woman. I believe I have her contact information. One sec and I will edit this post with it. I can almost promise things will change if you take the initiative and reach out to her. Explain you have not been put in contact with a host and have been making 10 trips a year and are loyal to the property.[IMG] Here is her email address! Good luck! She is not a/my host, but can do just as much as they can and more. She will completely set up your next trip for you if you'd like. Stress your dissatisfaction and past loyalty and it's her job to get you to return. Remember that!

It always interesting to hear how different people seemed to be comped at different levels for the same play. We were loyal V/P players for many years from about 2009 until this last trip when we moved over to Cosmo. We have a host at Venetian who we have never met. My wife and I play on one card about 6-10 hrs each per day. We are slots players at the max penny bet, although on losing streaks will drop down all the way to the minimum for a while. We put about $10k through the machines on average per day. Our room is comped and we receive $250-$400 FP with no back end comps.

Depends on the host and how much pull they have. I find that the younger hosts, can't do much. I'm getting $300 free play, 4 nights comped plus a limo on my next trip. Just feels like I need to gamble a lot because I feel like I'd let my host down otherwise. haha, wait a minute..it's genius. You don't want to let your host down so you'll gamble a bit more! Casinos have it all figured out.

I haven't stayed there in years so I can't speak about the "hotel experience". But I enjoy the fact that I can still find a 3:2 pitch BJ game there (H17, but who isn't these days?) and I LOVE the restaurant selection. Carnevino, CUT, Table 10, Bouchon, Bouchon Bakery, Grimaldi's...Christ, I think I just gained 10 pounds thinking about it!

Another vote for Grand Lux. Huge menu, great food, friendly staff. Owned by the folks that own Cheesecake Factory. Open 24hrs.

Sushisamba is also open late and really good food. Table10 is one of the best deals there. 4-5 course meal for $48 I believe. You can add filet mignon for $5 I think it is instead of the other main entree and it's very good served over mashed potatoes. I usually get Emerils BBQ shrimp and the gumbo too with my filet. The desserts are awesome. Most get Emeril's banana cream pie but I usually go for a custard.

We love the property. It's been our home base for the last couple of years. I'm sad that they got rid of the best Italian place on the property (Dal Toro) because the other ones suck. But the rest of the eating choices range from excellent to OMG. This trip I think the schedule calls for Delmonico and Bouchon, along with the usual Grand Lux.

Doesn't Mirage still have S17 pitch for comparable stakes right across the street?

I'm not shocked to see so many people post that their machines suck. My last stay with them was April of 2013. While I do miss the property, I mostly used the room to cry in after getting my nuts kicked on the slots.

I guess its good that the resort has so much to do, since my daily gambling budget usually ran out by noon and I had time to fill!

Thank you for that! I will contact Carmenjello before my next trip.:shy: Maybe it was an over sight, but they are so mean anytime I deal with the Grazie club that I have avoided dealing with them completely.

I guess my husband and I are the exception -- excellent host, excellent backend comps, and excellent wins. We average about three hand-pays per trip, and are medium gamblers on slots (gold cards under Grazie). Mostly dollars with some pennies. All in a great setting with wonderful restaurants and some pretty good entertainment when we schedule it right.

See told you all it's a great place! Lol I agree with you pbq but I don't get 3 handpays a trip by any means. Lol

Thanks everyone for the replies, not much of a gambling trip this time as I'll be at EDC and doing the pool party/nightclub stuff but it sounds like I should gamble elsewhere which I planned on.

Only places I ever win are Casino Royale and Mirage so at least I'll be close!!
