Decided to switch to Venetian for our EDC week trip in June and the pictures look amazing but have spent very little time at the property.

Any Restaurants worth trying? How are the pools? I've heard the comps are garbage there for all but mega high rollers, is this true?

And will the $20 trick get me some extra working keys for the room? We are adding one each to both of the rooms we booked and I really don't want to pay the extra guest fee out of principle lol.

I really like the Venetian. I have never used the pool. But they have many great restaurants in the hotels and in the mall. They are pretty tight with backend comps but if you give them some play you probably get some room offers. I am sure that you could get an extra key either when checking in or go back later and say you lost your key they will do that out of "principle".

Grand Lux for breakfast/lunch is unreal huge menu. Really too many great reataurants to list. Emerils Delmonico, Carevinos (Italian steakhouse), B&B Ristorante (Italian) the list goes on and on....Enjoy
    Forgot to add:
We stayed there for years before and after The Palazzo was built, then they decided to cut back on comps and cancelled a bunch of us just prior to coming out, loved the properties but have only stopped back to go to Grand Lux....been with CET ever since. It is a beautiful property.....Rick

The V/P has been our home base since before the Palazzo was built. We started going there when my children were young because we could literally hang out on the second floor (mall) the entire trip and enjoy everything the place had to offer without ever taking the kids through the smokey casino. Needless to say we built up some good comps back in the day and had many cheap/free trips. Those have dried up quite a bit but the the property remains top notch.

Almost every restaurant in the resort is great in its own way. Choose the type of cuisine you like and have at it. Too many to list!

The pools are pretty good. You have an option of the main pool which is a huge area. You can go to the Palazzo side but that pool seems to be more shaded throughout the day. Or you can hang with the oldies but goodies at the Venezia tower pool (very small and always shaded).

The gambling kinda sucks in my opinion since Sheldon tightened up the slots and pay tables. I havent had a big win there in over 5 years! Maybe its just me, but I like to blame it on Sheldon!

Have a blast and enjoy every aspect of the resort. Its huge and you can explore it for days without ever stepping out to the strip.

    Must do:
Bouchon: arguably the best breakfast in Vegas
Grand luxe: good eats 24 hours a day
B&B: good late night burger spot
    Tratoria Reggiano: excellent italian

I LOVE the Venetian! I love the mall, the slot selection, the rooms, the dining. What I dont like, if their shitty bounce back comps, they say their rooms are valued very high so that does not leave much room for free play or dining credits. The pool is OK, not even in the top 10 on the strip. Its wet and in between all the buildings.

But I stopped staying there years ago since I could never, ever, win on their slot machines.

Add in another who loves that property although I prefer to stay on the Palazzo side because it is a little more quiet and laid back.

You don't even have to tip for extra keys. Just ask for two or three when checking in. Tell them you need extras because you tend to lose keys often.

The restaurants are fantastic. Everything from cheap eats up to expensive steaks and seafood can be found there.

Comps there are hit or miss. They yanked comps from everyone but big players several years ago and then felt the backlash and brought them back. I'm not a big player but I'll get three-four nights comped per trip along with some free play and food credit. I probably average $200-300 per hand.

My main dislike is their sports book set up and who runs it (Cantor).

It is one of my favorite properties actually. Never stayed there, but gambled there regularly, but as stated earlier the gambling there kinda sucks nowadays.. Last time I was in LV (2014) I basically just threw handfuls of money at their machines, with very little return, the comps offered afterward were pretty lame too. Now, on the other hand, the rooms and the resorts themselves are gorgeous. Imo, you could eat at every restaurant in both resorts and never have a bad meal. The food and resort itself is worth the stay. Better gambling can be found almost anywhere else...

Stayed there once. It's on the return agenda. Rooms and casino are fantastic, but like every other resort out there, you have to pick what you want to do for dining. Too much to choose from. Loved it. Can't go wrong with a stay at the Venetian (or Palazzo).

I stay there or Palazzo every trip. I get comped as many nights as I need. Most I've asked for is 6 straight, and get great free play and resort credit. Beautiful property with some of the best restaurants and shopping in Vegas. It's been my home base for awhile.

In all fairness, Im pretty sure you rate high on tables or machines. You would not get all those comps if you didnt. This is not typical of V/P for average players. I would have to say you would need to be averaging $400-$600 a hand for that type of treatment.

I'm a slot player and not a high roller. Lol I have a great host there who always takes everything off the backend as well. I think loyalty goes a long way there.

It's my favorite property, absolutely love the resort. Rooms are great, multiple top-notch restaurants and even the food court is pretty good. But the gambling there is going downhill, VP paytables suck! I'm about a $500 ADT player and get 3 nights comped with a little freeplay or backend comps, so I'm pretty good with that for the quality of the property. See some of my TRs for pics of the pools and room, the one in the Venezia tower is very relaxing and intimate. Whisky selection at Delmonico is one of the best around! Don't know much about the club scene, i'm late-50's and been married a long time. Oh and key lime pie martinis at Fusion, but there are a lot of unsavory characters from a couple of message boards that hang out there!

Very good pizza, but just in case you don't know you can't charge it back to your room from Grimaldis. No idea why, but there a a few places within the V/P resort you are unable to do that with. I love the property and there is a new Latin inspired restaurant called Chica opening up late spring there. I'm excited for this as it's one type of food their restaurants were missing.

Was comped a suite for 3 nights a couple years ago after gambling quite a bit one trip there, try to avoid the Venezia tower because is it a HAUL to the casino.

Very nice property but like others have said the slot gambling has gone way downhill, I rarely play there anymore.

I'm not sure why you wouldn't have a host? I was assigned one ( without asking) and he's a really nice guy. I'm honest when I say I'm not a big player. I gamble almost all on slots and a bit of video poker. I play tables rarely and not even enough to worry about getting my play rated. I'd suggest you ask for a host. Especially since you are loyal. I am not a needy player and don't ask for show tickets or special favors, but I have a nice dinner every night at places like CUT, TAO, or Yardbird and those charges are always removed. I don't charge $1000's every trip by any means. If you play at least 4 hours a day at a minimum of $3 a spin on slots, the offers should be pretty fair.

Mr. Adelson is so stingy I can't support him anymore. The tightest slots on the strip, and he's even adding a third green spot to roulette! What a joke!

He makes a hell of a property though, it's always fun to walk around and eat and ship at the Venetian, the atmosphere is unmatched and the rooms are outstandingly good.

Would stay there, would never gamble there. At least its near Harrahs and Wynn

Maybe I will try that. Thanks for the suggestion. Sheldon is a very tight and stingy guy and over the years Ive seen the transformation inside the casino. Way back when the LVS stock was $4 and hurting, I had comps coming out the wazoo. Now that they are doing much better, the comps dried up, but maybe I need to do something about it.
