Sorry, I was just making fun of your comment about MB.

Actually I find all the strip hotels to be similar in nature, expensive, high minimum tables. Yes, nice digs and nice casino but I rather save my money and stay at lower end places since I'm always on the run.

Plus just read that cosmo will be charging for parking so the places that don't charge for parking on the strip are slowly disappearing.

I LOVED MBay when we recently stayed there a few weeks ago & it was our first time. We cannot wait to go back and stay there!

The property is lovely, the staff are extremely friendly, and they have lots of bar lounges, restaurants, and the best pool on the strip! Don't forget to check out the Foundation Room--beautiful view & a great night out.

We used Uber for most of our trip and I was so surprised how inexpensive it was not to mention the Uber drivers were so sweet & kind.

You may use your room card key to get free parking at the other MLife properties and that is what we did a couple of times. One night hubby & I did some walking because we enjoy it.

So to sum up the MBay is a gorgeous resort, and even tho South of the strip we did not mind that at all. And the rooms were spacious compared to other hotel rooms we have stayed at, which was perfect!!

I'm sure you guys will ENJOY it!

Let us all know how it worked out ....good luck, and have a great time in California from a California native, lol!

The more and more I read about how far it is, the more I am swaying to another hotel. But everything's so damn expensive because of EDC weekend and we aren't even planning to check out EDC.

If we settle, it looks like we'll just drive somewhere in the morning, park, and never go back to the hotel until late at night when we sleep!!!

Mandalay Bay is a great property - don't sell it short. The only negative, in some eyes, is the location. I would not hesitate to stay there again.

If you are looking to play a lot of poker in the center strip, then stay in the center strip.

Just got back from MB --

Lyft from MB to Paris (mid strip) was about $7 (not including tip) so really, not bad. We rent a car and it's not a big deal to us to get the car from valet and drive to another property and walk around. We opted for valet each day (didn't want to deal with finding self parking and walking that as well) - you pay once for the day (goes on the room bill) and can park at any MGM property. So we'd get the car, drive to Mirage or MGM, park and walk the rest of the way. Never takes more then a few minutes for valet to bring you the car.

If you don't want to get a car before you leave - walk to the Tram at MB - you can take that to Luxor and Excalibur - from there, it's not a horrible walk to Monte Carlo - you can catch another tram there that'll take you through Bellagio, Aria, Vdara or go across the street from Excalibur to MGM and catch a tram that'll take you all the way to Ballys.

As others have said - depends on how much you want to walk - if you don't mind and it's not super hot - MB is a fine location.

Property wise; it's still our favorite - great pools; we didn't eat there this time other then by the pool but theres always good spots. Everything is clean; quieter (no random foot traffic) - rooms are nice.
