Follow the traffic rules people. Use the crosswalks and the lights. They are there for YOUR protection.

As mentioned, very sad, but could have been avoided.

LV is probably the most dangerous city there is for pedestrians! You have many drivers who are unfamiliar with the roads, many who are distracted by the lights and the scenes and such, and many who are under the influence of adult beverages or other substances.

By the Mirage, I see tons of people always crossing instead of waiting for the light, and at least once a trip, I see an idiot or two almost get hit. I have no sympathy for people who do stupid things like run across traffic.

I've never, ever been to Vegas when pedestrians don't obey the signals. Always trying to dart across. So many close calls. I think if they obeyed them better then they do then the traffic would at least a bit better. I'm all for more x over bridges and getting pedestrians away from crossing streets. imo of course.

Crossing at the intersection by Paris to Cosmo (not the overpass by PH, but on the street level) there's a second small crosswalk from the island to Cosmo and I've seen a few near misses there. The crosswalks are on different schedules and it can be confusing. Taxis shoot out of there at high speed to make the light before the green for LVB.

    Be careful out there!

So sad - hoping for the best for her.

Sadly, I've seen an actual occurrence at the Mirage/Harrah's crosswalk and way too many near misses. That location sure could use a pedestrian bridge - sidewalks there are so narrow that some folks stand in the street.

This is probably the most dangerous part of the Strip in my opinion because as you stated you are technically supposed to go from point A (PH sidewalk) to point B(the small cement island where the cross walk sign is) to C (the actual sidewalk in front of Cosmo) however most people go from A to C not realize there is traffic coming FROM the Bellagio (most, exiting cars).

I also like how Tridadvisor took down my post which is a replica of the story I posted her...what a bunch of ass-hats.
