I have a "Packers Tree", a green and gold tree, that stays up year round and also serves as our Xmas tree. My sister-in-law liked the idea but she is in a split favorite team household. So I told her, "Why not a Vegas Tree?" since she and my brother love Vegas, and she loved the idea.

It would be easy to just go buy some Vegas ornaments, dice, whatever... but we decided it would be way more fun to hunt down objects while actually in Vegas to put on the tree. Sort of a scavenger hunt. Our rules are pretty simple.

    A) The item must be free, and freely given/available (no stealing!)
    B) Must be Vegas themed. (casino, dice, cards, Elvis, etc.)
    C) Must be appropriately sized for a Xmas tree type ornament.
    E) Variety encouraged (multiple casinos, Vegas only locations, etc.)

Some stuff we've grabbed so far:
    - key chains (free from slot clubs)
    - drink coasters
    - slot cards
    - dice (free from slot clubs)

Anyone want to help us out (make suggestions) and play along?

ps. We stay almost exclusively downtown, but I will be on the strip a few days in September.

    I would consider getting:
    Players Club Cards,
Table Game Chips (if they are already playing just stash a single chip aside or if playing slots just get a single chip when cashing a TITO at the cage),
TITOs that are not worth cashing out (just a few cents each).

Hotel toiletries - maybe the non-liquid, like a shoe horn? Or even packaging from toiletries that are branded. I had a couple old calendars from Vegas (remember the guy who made them as a fundraiser for a shelter?) Decoupaged a shadow box with those pics and added hooks with all our old players cards hanging. Did a couple plate shelves (with grooves) for our chip collection. At one point, I probably had enough plastic lanyards to do garland :santa:

I made an ornament out of a baseball card holder and 2 of the hooker cards they pass out on the street. It's my fave one and gets the WORST looks from my family and biggest laugh from my friends. I also enjoy the spirited arguement each holiday season between my Fiance and I when i retrieve it from it's hiding place.

    Buffets and poker (hopefully)
