Looking forward to following along. Can't wait to hear your thoughts on the room at Paris. The wife and I are staying in the same type of room at the end of August

Good luck! I share your feelings about TA.....have been very happy with the forums here. Enjoy Paris! I LOVED my stay there and had been a Bally's lady for years.

So, I figured out a master way to avoid a hangover....just don't sleep. The lady went to bed around 1 and I played VP in Paris. Somehow ended up at Margaritaville and then Flamingo and then Cromwell. Back to Ballys where I waited for the lady to wake up for "American Football". Hit 4 dueces and that brought me back up to even(ish).

I'm not feeling tired at all and now devising my call-off work plan for Tuesday! Teeheeheee!

Something tells me first day rush of adrenaline and somewhat “free” alcohol may have caused a brief interruption in our broadcast. Please stay tuned.

I agree that this forum is a lot friendlier and more enjoyable. I am a pretty recent covert here myself, and have been enjoying the trip reports the last couple months in anticipation of my upcoming trip. Have a blast and win big!

Ha, love the James connection. He is such a great guy - there aren't many bartenders at Bally's who aren't great. Hope you've been having an awesome trip and will share details and some pictures when you get home and recover.

And yes!!! I am very jealous of your RF. Not only have I never had one at Sully's, I've never had one at all. This is the monkey I cannot get off my back in over 20 years of Vegas and VP!

Its a good thing you didn't shorten even more because than the title would have read "VD in Vegas".:p

With regards to the Reef Dispensary visit, any concerns of getting tested at work once you get home?
Just wondering as it sounds like you both have decent jobs.

    Hey VMB'ers!

We made it out alive! Just arrived back in town! Vegas is great, but being home is great too! Our Kit Kat missed us dearly!

    FB_IMG_1530571533064.jpg

Okay, so scenario 1: I was a responsible adult who had a healthy and filling meal, Indulged in a cocktail, and then went to bed at a reasonable time, waking up feeling refreshed and ready to take on the day.

    Or...

Scenario 2: I went to work at 5 am EST on Friday, worked until 2, drove to Cleveland, hopped on a plane (where my destination allowed me to gain 3 hours), had some sushi, visited 4 casinos alone, had copious amounts of alcohol, thought that I should make friends with every person I met, and ultimately powered through nearly 40 hours of nonstop Las Vegas action.

Who the hell do I think I am anyway?!

There's your teaser. I'll stop by later for a full report, pictures included!

No, no concern there. Well, maybe not before. Now you've made me start thinking about it! But really, It is something that we partake in very, VERY rarely. Ultimately, no, I'm not concerned.

Okay, well, my "devising a plan to not come into work" today didn't turn out exactly as I had expected. Yeah, so I have to be here at least 4 hours to get paid for the holiday tomorrow. So while my lady is sound asleep with the Kit Kat at home, I am going to push through a few hours at work (aka write up my TR) and then head back to the comfort of the couch, where I can take my bra off, watch a movie, and enjoy the 95 degree, 80% humidity, from in front of the air con.

Let's start at the very beginning. A very good place to start.

As I had mentioned last week, we are no strangers to Sin City. Some may call it our second home, asking when our next trip is. Doesn't it annoy you when people are all up in your shiz and they're all like "geez, you must make so much money to go to Vegas all the time". Uh, no B, we don't make "so much money". We are 37 and 38, respectively, have decent paying jobs, no children, two rather new vehicles that are scheduled to be paid off by the Fall, and the unfortunate passing of my lady's mother two years ago gave us the opportunity to move into her childhood home where we should be mortgage free at the ripe age of 43. We travel a lot, yes. But we also work hard to play hard. With the lady working in tax reporting, any vacation between the months of January and May are a no-go. So, we work around that, making it seem like we travel ALL THE TIME. Okay, we do travel a lot, but that's not your bizness!! If her and I were to ever decide to go our separate ways, we've said that we would always be travel companions, regardless.

We drove to Cleveland to catch our flight because it saved us a chunk of change. We do this frequently. Cincinnati, Cleveland, Detroit, Pittsburgh. If the savings is worth it, we'll drive a little. Flight was Spirit. Cost was $380, total for two, roundtrip. The flight left on time and even touched us down in the desert about 20 minutes early. On a side note, this was the first flight that we didn't partake in cocktails 30,000 feet up.

When we travel on the any budget airline, we do not check a bag, nor do we take a "carry-on". What I mean by this is (and most of you already know this), Spirit allows you to take a bag for free, as long as it fits under the seat in front of you. Let's be honest, in Las Vegas, in the Summer, when it's topping 105 degrees, you really just need tank tops and shorts. Throw in a swimsuit and a toothbrush, and you're basically good to go. Typically when we do this, we are able to just toss our back backs in the overhead without any issues. This trip was no different. Upon our arrival to McCarran, we made our way over to ride share. Dude, have you guys been over there lately?? It used to be a cluster of people and cars just meandering. You would just stand there and hope you could find your driver in the madhouse! Kids, they have fixed it up real good! There are workers out there now, directing traffic, directing people, yelling at you if you're in the street instead of in the waiting line.

You stand in sort of a queue and you have to stay there until your driver contacts you to let you know which number parking spot they are in. Don't dare walk out until you know because, trust me, you will be reprimanded. Nissan Versa, $12, straight to Paris without issue. When we made our reservation, for some reason that I can't remember, I used my debit card instead of my credit card to reserve the room. When we arrived, we needed to go to the desk instead of the kiosk because I needed to switch it so that I didn't have a hold on funds from my checking account. No issues. No line, straight up, Bonnie was helpful, checked us into our comped room, "end of hallway, burgundy room", room 1444, and we were on our way.

I'm gonna put a bookmark in here, for now. I have to at least make it seem like I got SOMETHING done at work today.

Yes, This! My hubby and I go to Vegas one or twice a year depending on schedules and budget, but we always get asked this same question. Same answer, we aren't loaded, but we no longer have to sink money into vacations that include small children so that budget has gone to us and we like Vegas. We find it to be the same as if we took the kids to Disney. Hell sometimes it comes out cheaper. That mouse never comped me a room LOL.

Thanks for the ride share info! Haven't done it in Vegas and it's nice to know ahead of time how it works.

Boy do I agree on this. I fly to Vegas from NYC 3, sometimes 4 times per year and people just assume that I am loaded as well. Why do people just create their own version of someone else's life? LOL Jealousy is the way I look at it.
