Wow pretty cool he got to sit in the cockpit with the pilot for a moment. Those types of things seem so rare these days but they make travelling feel so much more special.

Adding a couple days to the trip.

You got what I would consider perfect pool weather. Hopefully tomorrow turns out better than forecasted for the park.

Your baby is adorable! And thank you for the Universal pix. I was last there about 8 years ago and enjoyed the park a lot. Stayed at the Loews so we could get all the express passes, and especially early park entry for the Harry Potter stuff, which was new back then and subject to long lines. It was nice to be able to walk to the park from the hotel. Enjoy your trip!

We did. I had never been in there. Lots of good desserts! My partner got a small box of chocolates and I may go back after dinner

1- Thanks for sharing, love reading your trip reports!

2- If you have time, try Cowfish at Universal, an interesting mix of "American" food and sushi/Thai type cooking. Loved it!

Living in Miami we get to Universal a couple times a year and always find something new. Hope you and little fanatic have a great time!

    Thanks again for sharing,

Love the pictures...I live in orlando and rarely see the resort side of the parks. The night swimming pics bring back memories of when we were kids and would beg to go night swimming but the mosquitoes were so bad it was miserable....pest control has gotten much better!

The rain just stopped so hopefully you can enjoy the rest of your day!

The rain was not bad and brief. Actually, we ate an early lunch at Leaky Cauldron and missed most of the storm.

Overall, an up and down day at the park. Will try to update later

I will try and wrap up this report with a final post. You wil see why there eren't many updates yesterday....

So Sunday was our park day. Staying onsite, we had access to the bonus park hour at 7am at Isle of Adventure, which is where the Hagrid coaster we have yet to ride is located. So our plan was to wake up early, get there by opening, go straight to Hagrid, and minimize our wait time for the ride. All went according to that plan til we got in line for the ride.

We walked through the line til it stopped moving. The peron next to us had ridden Hagrid many times and told us it was about a twenty minute wait from where we stood. Sounded good! Only, the ride was not operating! Arghhhhh! So we waited. And waited. After 45 minutes, I told my partner it wasn't looking good. Nerd that I am, I study theme park wait times and knew that hagrid had a bad tendency to experence prolonged downtimes. I told her it was her call. So we kept waiting. made sense. The only other rides open early were ones we have been on multiple times before and we were not that interested in. So we were missing out on super short lines, but we were ok with that. After an hour, however, and the parks opening to general admission, we gave up. We got out of line, rode the Hogwarts Express to the other park, and quickly rode Gringotts and the Rip Ride Rockit.

After that, we toiled around, did a couple gentle rides, and the rian started. It wasn't terrible, but it was enough to shut down most of the rides at the park. So we quickly mobile ordered an early lunch at Leaky Cauldron and went there to eat ad sit out the rain. It worked. By the time we finished eating, the rain had stopped. After that, we did some shopping at Simpsons land (we are both big fans and my partner got a Krusty Burger tshirt she loves). Then the Kang and Kodos Hurl and Twirl reopened just as we walked past it. Its one of the few rides our little guy could ride so we all jumped on it.

Afater that, we did a couple more rides and took the train back to Isle of Adventure in search of beer (alcohol for her, butter for me). Of course, while we were on the train, Hagrdis reopened! And the wait was immediately 90 minutes by the time we got there. We didn't want to wait that long and our little guy needed a nap. So my patner and the little fanatic headed back to the hotel for a break. I stayed at the park to ride the Jurassic Park rides (the River Adventure is my favorite in the entire park). But after waiting in line half an hour, I started having serious stomach issues. Serious enough that I got out line and rished to a restroom. After that, I decided I needed a break too. Wish I had left sooner, because I spent most of the next three hours in and out of bathrooms.

Thankfully, I felt a little better before our scheduled dinner, so we kept our reservation at Anjitos. I ate very light and the food is always good there. We toyed with the idea of heading back into the parks that night after dinner, but knew we had to get up very early to return home. Hell, we were back in our house by 8am and my partner is already back at work. But the lack of sleep was worth it as we both had a good time (excepting the couple hours of stomach issue).

So that was my past week and a half! Hope you enjoyed following along. Due to a combination of life changes and odd scheduling, next month is a crazy fun travel month. Over the course of just over three weeks, I have trips scheduled to three casinos in two states (Florida once and Vegas twice) and a longer trip to Disney World with the little fanatic squeezed in between the gambling. So I am glad things went well this month. I won money at Cosmo which I can now put to use in those other casino resorts. And now we know how much theme park the little guy can handle in any given day. So we are excited to take him to Disney as well.

Everyone stay safe and have a fun spring!

FWIW, I forgot to post my opinion after eating my chocolate treats from the Emporium. I liked it. It was good quality chocolate. But I prefer the chocolate at the Gnachery at Disney Springs. Still, this was good and my partner even went back for more choclate to bring home (I think she is still disappointed that I didn't get a chance to complete my DOA trip from March where I was supposed to bring home a suitcase full of Aria Patisserie chocolate lol)
