Good luck on the trip, Fanatic.

Did you change your screen name because you want John Calipari sent to prison / exiled , too?

Just caught up. Any friend who is willing to put medication in your cat’s eye is a friend you want to keep.

Hope Little Fanatic continues to improve.

An advance warning if you plan to post that polo shirt emblazoned with snakes would be appreciated.. Don’t need anymore nightmares ;)

    We are back… live-ish!

sitting at the terrace point cafe getting food. So let me update you on last night.

we finally arrived. The flight was smooth and only half full. But weather really seems to be wreaking havoc everywhere right now. Apparently schools are closing early back home due to storms. So we picked the right day to get out of town!

Got our bags at bag claim and our Wynn car drove us to the tower suites. The little fanatic really loved a new sphere projection that looks like … a fraggle? At least a muppet lol.

I wrote a few years ago that I have been downgraded from the salon suites. But the parlor suite is perfectly fine and the family likes it

I unpacked quickly and even though it was well past midnight at that point, I decided to hit the casino briefly. I will give the play by play and then offer up the thought process someone asked I start including in my gambling recaps.

not surprising, the casino was dead. It was almost 1am on a Tuesday. There were a couple players in the high limit. So I sat at an empty blackjack table and took out a marker for 20k. I decided to bet large right off the bat and that was a big mistake. I think I won one hand in the first twelve. And I had decent hands. The dealer just kept drawing to 21. Neither of us could bust!

I was done to my final 3k and finally won that hand. The shoe finally improved, but I was in a huge hole. By the end of the shoe, I was down 13k.

Second shoe was more solid. No huge wins, but my stacks were building up again slowly. Mid shoe, another friendly player joined me. He offered to wait til the end of the shoe and I told him either way was fine. But I am really glad he sat out! I hit a hot streak and by the time it was over, I was only down 3k. Once the streak ended, we asked for a fresh shuffle so he could join.

Played a couple more up and down shoes. The new guy was betting multiple yellow per hand in two spots and doing well. I didn’t realize how well til he colored up with around a 20k profit. I kept playing until a hit a four hand split that finally got me all the way back plus $1200. After that, I colored up, did a quick walk past the craps tables, and headed to bed

So, I hope this ext post is what someone asked for. Here was my thought process this gambling session:

I made a big mistake to start. Right when I headed down to the casino, I opened VMB to post that I was going down there and saw I had a PM. The past fe trips, a number of people have talked to me about meeting up and I aways ut the onus back on them to find me. Sometimes, those people sent me PMs to let me know where they were or where they were heading, but I rarely look at my PMs while on a trip. I felt a little guilty about that (since those folks were making the effort) and decided to read my unopened PMs on my way to the casino just in case it was someone telling me they were nearby or at the Wynn.

Well, it wasn't that kind of message. It was actually a childish, self-centered message on another topic masquerding as somehing important (which it was not). Still, it made me roll my eyes and it had me distracted when I walked into the high limit room. THe dumb message was on my mind when I decided to start the session betting large. That's against my rules.

I have a set of rules I try to keep in mind when gambling. One of them is to not gamble when really tired. Well, I already knew I was breaking that rule, lol. Anoter rule is not to bet too large at he beginning of a long trip. If it a shot trip, I ave no problem going for it. But I am here a week. And if I start large and it goes badly, I can end up in chase mode (especially if I am tired). And when chase mode goes bad, I sometimes get stuck to the tune of six figures. And when that happens, I usually shut down the gambling all together. Which would suck to do on the first night of a seven day visit!

But being distracted by the PM and assuming I would only play a few hands large before scaling back to purple chip play led to the immedate 17k hole. Thankfully, I quickly realized my mistake and did not degen down with even larger bets. I still made some bugger plays as I clawed my way back, but I picked my spots rather than diving in head first. Finally, I decided to stop when I was up a small amount imply because I was really tired and knew I needed some sleep.

Hopefully that is the kind of gambling mindset stuff you all were asking for. But if I am way off base, let me know!

Wow, that’s impressive you were able to come back like that playing BJ, it can be a grind to do it.
More impressive you had the wherewithal to color up & walk away, may you continue to win like that.

Glad you finally made it to Vegas, the suite is gorgeous & looks like a nice place for the fam for the trip.
Say what you(general you) will about Steve Wynn, he sure knew how to create a glamorous hotel suite experience.

Edit to add: that DM you got is BS, whoever did that is a sad person. Sorry that happened.

After I colored up at the tables, I walked past the craps tables. There were two open both fifty dollar mins. Even I thought that was ridiculous. I went upstairs.

The sphere fraggle wished me good night before bed

Got about three hours sleep before my partner woke up for early conference calls and the little fanatic started stirring. So the little guy got his bath and I headed downstairs for some food for all of us. Going with a classic Wynn golf shirt today

    IMG_0326.jpeg

On my way to terrace point cafe, I stopped by the cage to pick up our shopping spree cards. Great news! They gave me the bonus amount without question! That’s the positive decide of multi hour airport delays, lol. My partner has informed me that there is a universal limit to how many golf shirts one person can own and she is right. I have so damn many golf shirts from casinos, it fills an entire (large) closet. So it might be time to mix up my freemium shopping this trip.

Aftet getting the cards, I sat at the cafe bar and ate. See, I can take pics of food!
    IMG_0327.jpeg

Actually, when they said the plate came with potatoes, I just assumed he meant hash browns. Not a fan of home fries. But they gladly replaced it for me

    IMG_0328.jpeg

After I ate, I got some carryout for the family. On my way back to the room, I stopped in the RFB lounge to grab some drinks. Got the ones I wanted from the secret stash and found out that the tower suites pools are open this week. The desk worker hesitated when I asked her that, but I am hoping she is right. It should be warm enough tomorrow.

No set plan for the remainder of the day. My guess is that I will make the trek to FB and we will start our freemium shopping

The only thing worse than those fries are the country potatoes which are usually brimming w/peppers. So. Gross.

Happy they hooked you up with the HB! Yum.

The hash browns are definitely the way to go!

Though, I like terrace point and have eaten there many times, I always think about how much better the food is at Tableua. Somehow, their egss taste a little fresher and their hash browns are a little yummier

    Welcome back to Vegas:)

I will be planning a stop at Wynn cuz I heard they are matching again. I hope we get a chance to meetup! Fourth time is the charm maybe? lol

I’ll also be at the masterclass on Thursday. I have no problem with you putting the responsibility of a meetup on the other person as you are busy with not only Vegas, but partner and kid so totally understand that! Don’t feel too bad:)

I’m very sorry that someone ruined your mojo due to a dumb text. Super annoying and relatable.

I think last time you may have been looking at some shoes that you thought were too pricey unless I’m mixing that up with someone else? Maybe that can be the purchase instead of golf shirts;)

Enjoy the suite and time playing with little fanatic and shopping with your partner!

Best chance to find me will likely be tonight, tomorrow morning, or tomorrow night in the casino. And by morning, I mean early while the little guy is still waking up. Thursday is our transfer day to Aria, but if you make it over sometime today or tmorrow evening, just look for the short old guy with the hiking pole, lol.

Last trip, I made fun of some shoes that were covred in purple fur (will the Grimace genocide never end!!!!), but that is definitely not my style. We will probably stop in that same shoe store at some point, but they are so sllllooooowwww! I have nought shoes there in the past. Just not sure I want to give them an hour of my life to walk to their off site warehous to get pairs for me to try on.

We talked last night about how the Wynn gift and sundry shop used to have a lot more merchandise when it was in its old spot next to the old Drugstore Cafe. Ever since it moved into the newer, smaller location, it doesn't sell as uch variety. But that old store is where I bougth some shorts and button up casual shirts during past shopping events. Wish that would come back

Seriously, I have probably something in the neighborhood of 70 or so different golf shirts. maybe that wouldn't be so absurd if not for the fact that 1. I don't golf, 2. I keep hanging onto old ones that are too big for me now, and 3. almost every one of them came from a casino lol

Made it to the arcade. It’s busier than I expected for the day and time. So observations as we walked:

The table mins at encore are significantly lower than Wynn side. No surprise.

I saw a drink server walking between slots of fun and the main casino. So I guess they are serving there now

casino is dead. Saw one BJ table with one player and a roll to win craps open with zero players
