    Some final thoughts: (Long read)

I am officially an idiot and I am banning myself from poker tournaments.

This afternoon I bought in for the 2:00 NLHE at South Point EXCEPT ..... it's a Limit Hi-Lo Omaha tournament. I don't realize it until I count my chips and look at my slip. Tournament has already begun and I'm just slapping myself upside the head mentally. I am completely lost for the whole 2 hours I lasted. The guys and girl at the table were nice with all my slowness and mistakes. I never said I was in the wrong type of tournament.

OK now that I banned myself from poker let's get one last night of gambling going.

Drove to Mirage and begun the walking the strip with the goal of placing a slots bet in as many of them as I could.

In order and with my own rating system of Great / OK / Did it once don't have to do it again (DIO):

Mirage - Great. Not busy tonight. I just loved the vibe in there. Quieter than others which may be a turn off for some but is a plus for me. Very good drink service.

Casino Royale - DIO. Fun factor high but small and cramped.

    Harrah's - OK

    The Link - OK

Dinner at Gordon Ramsey's Fish and Chips. Excellent and reasonable considering it's in Vegas.

    Flamingo - DIO.

    Walked over to ...

Ellis Island - DIO. I was really hoping to like this place. I'm at a lost about what people see in it. No offense intended to people who like it but it reminded of a church basement hall.

Bally's - OK. I think Bally's is underrated here at VMB. It seemed lively and I liked that row of shops / restaurants going west towards the Strip.

Bellagio. I can't make up my mind on a rating. It feels like someone dropped a casino in Beverly Hills. Lots of people walking through but not as many people gambling. It is beautiful though. Drink service non existent.

Caesars - OK. I mean the place has everything but it seems laid out in such a weird and confusing manner.

Finished back up at Mirage where I parked. Phone says I did 20,000 steps.

    Last Random thoughts:
    1. No real issues walking the strip at 5:00 PM - 10 pm. Not many scooters. Not many homeless. Lots of people enjoying marijuana.
    2. Lots of young people and families with kids out.
    3. People seemed to be doing a decent job with the Covid precautions.
    4. I think one of the best views of the strip is while driving on I-15. I like how the perspective keeps changing.
    5. Wow! there are lots of helicopter tours. Must be one going past the Luxor every 5 minutes or so.

Next trip - I don't know when, but I do know it would involve playing at South Point, Mirage, NYNY and Sam's Town.
Regarding where to stay, I would consider the Luxor Tower room again particularly if comped. If the pool was a big part of my plans, I would look elsewhere probably Mirage, MGM Grand or (cough cough) Caesars. Even the pool at NYNY looked OK.

Thanks for reading along and the kind words.

Total loss for the three days is $625. Had a lot of fun.

Thanks for the report. What poker room did you enjoy more? Im thinking on my upcoming trip I may try and leave DT for a poker tournament. Would you recommend SP or Orleans?

May be able to cram 4 trips in this year after-all!

Both were very good. Both had good chairs (South Points were excellent), felts and dealers. South Point had at table cell phone chargers. I didn't check if Orleans did. Orleans had a little better cocktail service. South Point tourneys were cheaper ($60 vs. $100 at Orleans).

    Slight preference to South Point.
