I don't know if it's an old age thing, a crabby lady thing or a slightly crazy person thing but I think since I hit 50 some years ago clothes tags or just about anything touching my skin drives me insane. I now cut everything off I can find. Usually the care tags on the side aren't bad, but what sadist thought it was a great idea to put extra buttons on tags inside shirts? I think maybe once in my lifetime I used that replacement button. Even then I think it was something huge and gawdy that was fashionable in the 1980s. Stop, please make them stop.

I knew it was getting worse when I was in bed this morning and I felt like there was a giant knife sticking in my arm. I felt around only to find a faint crumb. Yup, that fairy tale must have been written by a 60 year old woman.

I can deal with the clothes tags but it seems any little thing interferes with my sleep. If my “routine” changes it’s usually a crappy night

I do the same. All of a sudden the tag on an older shirt will start to make my neck itch.

Over the years I have ruined many a fine shirt trying to cut those cactus like tags on the back neckline out with scissors.

Cuticle nippers work really well too. If you snip the little threads, the tag comes right off. Unless it's one of those sadistic manufacturers that sew the tag into the collar. Those people deserve to go straight to hell!

    Old Curmudgeon here...

I've been cutting tags out of shirts for years and yes I've ruined a few along the way.
I recently bought a pair of Swim Trunks or Board Shorts as the kids call them?!?
The minute I got home I cut the Banana Hammock (Mesh) out of them...
Also my sleep habits are terrible - I manage to sleep about 2 hours at a time.

I inherited my mother and grandmother's neck issues. When I was young, I wore turtlenecks every day in cold weather ( I had a trunk full of them when I moved in with my husband - I think I got rid of 20 at the time ) Today, I can't even wear a crew neck - I hate when something touches my neck. No short necklaces either.

Pretty much the same. I also cannot stand long sleeves down to my wrist. It has to be 3/4 sleeves. I have problems wearing watches and bracelets. Drives me crazy. I have to be really cold to wear long sleeves without rolling them up.
