    Will do! Might take me a couple days, busy week.

    Yeah, I booked direct instead, rather go through you all than a third party for a $7 savings.

    Golden Nugget is a Strip hotel that is poorly located. But if you love the Strip and are afraid of Downtown, you should start with the Nugget. Try the rest before they are gone.

    @FullPay, what do you mean by "If it's your first time Downtown why not try a Downtown hotel." Meaning that GN is "strip like"?

    I'm not much of a downtown person but I have stayed at both GN and the Plaza so ill put in my 2 cents.

    plaza: I had high hopes for this place when I stayed there in March 2016, but my overall experience was subpar. Check in took almost 2 hours, there was only one employee working the check-in desk. Another couple travelling with us stayed in the tower closest to the check in desk, there was a foul odor of a clogged drain/sewage throughout that tower, extending to the main casino area near the front desk. We stayed in the other tower. There was no sewage smell but we were given a smoking room which smelled like an old ashtray. The furniture was extremely worn and full of chips and even cigarette burns. The housekeeping service was subpar and they did not really clean the room at all when they came. The only restaurant I tried there was HHAGG and I was unimpressed. Casino was dead and I didn't gamble much there. The lounge on the edge of the casino floor is nice and has decent live music. One of my work buddies swears by the plaza though and he claims that they are constantly improving things there.

    GN- I had to go testify as a witness this march and Clark County paid for my room. I was in the old Carson tower. The room is spacious and clean but somewhat dated. The bed linens are high quality. The view out the window of the room sucked, it was of a parking garage and the jail. The restaurants at GN are nice. The pool was somewhat crowded but nice to hang out in for an hour or so. The slide through the shark tank was closed though. I liked the casino there, I didn't play bj that trip though. On my 2016 trip the bj tables at GN were all 3:2 but that may have changed. The lounge is nice and kind of fun, their club gold diggers was deserted and sucked. GN has given me zero offers or comps. I am not a huge gambler but I do get some offers from mlife, v/p, and even from the d where I have barely played.

    Unless the comps are super important to you I would go with GN. Everything downtown is so close anyway it is super quick to go between any casino downtown. My favorite place to drink and play vp downtown is Chicago Brewing at 4 queens, I would highly recommend stopping in there if you are downtown.

    I usually stay at GN and was hoping to try Plaza later this year. I sent a message to Fedolphus (sp?) to see if he'd match my Nugget comp. I'm still waiting for an answer over 3 weeks later...

    We always stay @ GN, but have stayed @ Plaza for a few nights on a comp. The only negative to the Plaza rooms is the bathroom is very small, and there isn't really a closet there is a place to hang up clothes about a foot from the sink. The rooms at the Plaza are large & clean, and the bed was very comfortable and there was no noise, we slept very well. We just prefer the very nice Rush Tower rooms @ GN. We always head down to the pool @ GN by 9am to get loungers close to the end, so you do not feel so cramped in. It's a fun pool.

    You mentioned wanting to hang out at the Sports book, check out the new one @ The California it's now our favorite, just a block away from the Plaza. They have signs that say 2 drink minimum to sit there, but we never were made to order drinks and sat there for a while on New Years weekend during NFL. You will enjoy your trip wherever you end up!! Have fun!!

    I will give The Plaza a try next time I am in Vegas. However, long walk to the Deuce bus that goes to the Strip, $10 higher fee for shuttle to/from airport, and the prop looks dated. And you have to cross the street, and I hate crossing streets ever since I crossed 'Delancey St.' back in 1986.

    I'll be at the Plaza for two nights of my three night trip and I can't wait! Deuce isn't much of a concern to me. Since I'm there in July it'll be lyft or bust.

    @Fe'Adolphus
    How does this work for minimal gamblers, not looking at the comp side but I would generally give my business to the hotel direct than book through a 3rd party. We love the Plaza but we try to avoid a resort fee. So, in general, could we general get the same deals by contacting you or the hotel direct in the future? We have an upcoming booking next weekend (California) and one in August (Main Street Station) but moving forward would consider The Plaza if we're able to build a rapport or reputation with your fine hotel! Thank you!

    Thank you for reaching out. There are a variety of ways to book with us directly based on your current casino play. The resort fee is there on any paid reservation booking through us, but, we may have the option of comping even a small portion of your stay before you leave based on your casino play. If you book through a third party I can not touch your reservation at all. Depending on your dates of the reservation, there are ways to offset the resort fees prior to departure. I believe I can make you a loyal Plaza friend. :)
