I am very much looking forward to this. I was never a fan of the Taj as a casino, but I always enjoy walking the Boardwalk and casino hopping, so this happening is really good. Enjoy your upcoming trip!

This is great news and should also help Resorts by bringing more folks to that end of the boardwalk. I am curious to know the purchase price for the Taj, it cost over a $1Billion in 1990.

They mention in the article that Hard Rock is investing $300 million for purchase and renovation and I'm assuming that a lot of that cost will be renovation, because the Taj wasn't worth too much anymore. The original hotel tower and the casino both badly need renovation, so this is going to be great for the property. The location is fantastic and it's attached to Steel Pier, so visitors will be able to get their game on, see a rock show, and then go ride a roller coaster and soon the new observation wheel. I'm looking forward to the new polercoaster that's coming to the area where the Sands used to stand too.

I'm happy this will be up and running again. I never go down to that end of the Boardwalk any more because there's no point. Now if they could just get 10 or whatever up and running...

I've always thought he was...different. That's the craziest, most circular conversation ever.

Agreed, the guy comes off as a total con artist. He refuses to pay property taxes, he's suing the State, and blames everyone but himself the whole way. After reading that interview I have to believe his bizarre behavior is what kept the Hard Rock folks from making a deal with him. The Revel is brand new and in move in condition, it could be up and running in short order. I guess by buying the Taj, the Seminole's can take their time to refurbish and rebrand the building. But what happens to all the minarets?

New details on the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino AC. They will have two 7000 seat performance venues for concerts. They are also moving the Hard Rock Cafe and expanding it to seat 400 people with an enlarged stage and access to the beach. Total cost of purchase and renovations to the Taj: $375 million. They will be hiring 1000 construction workers and then they will be providing 3000 permanent jobs, which should replace all the jobs lost when the Taj closed. It will open in Summer 2018.

I can't wait for this to happen. I will greatly increase my visits to AC after this place opens.

Really wished they renovated the other Trump casino. Unfortunate to see that casino between the trop and Ceasars just linger.

Plus they'll have 2400 slots and 130 table games.

From what I hear, the Trump Plaza is for sale, but they are having trouble finding a buyer because the place has a $1 million/year land lease that's like an anchor around the property's neck. It also needs a lot of renovations and there is absolutely no space for expansion. Makes it a hard sell.

Pretty happy about Hard Rock taking the Taj over. Should create another good option in AC to compete with Borgata and Caesars. If Borgata goes the way of National Harbor with MGM taking over, this could be a great option.

Trump invested in Taj and did little/nothing at Plaza and the Marina for a long time. Plaza has to be in worse shape.

What's crazy is it was a really nice property with a great location. They just let it decay into total garbage
