I’m currently in an Uber almost at ORLY airport in Paris region. It’s the LaGuardia of Paris. Doing a family trip for a week to Sorrento on the Amalfi coast and Naples. This is my wife’s trip. Other than eating pizza, clams and spaghetti and plenty of wine and beer I have no plans. We’ll see how much I’ll post here.

We’re still figuring things out in this country and even though it says a 30 minute Uber not sure if could be two hours with traffic which isn’t very likely. Stil very old people of us to do so. Our EasyJet (Spirit of Europe) doesn’t open baggage checkin for another hour.

Trying to get McDonalds for an espresso and beer but family is book browsing. Adult comics like this in France make me want to improve my French efficiency.
 
If anyone has certain dishes to try or things to do while on the coast by Amalfi let me know, I have little to no plans.
 
In Naples, I saw pizza with corn and hot dogs. I don't advise you try that lol.

Naples is beautiful, as is Sorrento. Have a great trip!
 
Forgot we’re going to Pompeii and wife plans on taking a boat tour to explore the coast. Worse case I’ll post food pictures and pictures of the scenery and few lessons or mistakes we make or things that was great and we’d do again.
 
Looking forward to this - just booked a Mediterranean cruise for Mom and I and beginning research on what to do in ports including Naples.

I spent a few days in Sorrento years ago and loved it. Sample all the lemoncello! We really enjoyed a day trip to Capri too.

Pompeii is amazing, but I actually thought Herculaneum was even more interesting. The archaeological museum in Naples was top notch too.

I can't remember what month I went to Pompeii during but I remember the insane heat. Bring a sun hat if it's hot!
 
I was just in Sorrento yesterday! Bought some lemon pasta to take home (gifts). Lovely little city.

As I was told by a local…get the pizza. When in Rome you should have pasta but in the Napoli region, get the pizza.

I was also in Pompeii. A LOT OF WALKING. It was fine this week and I was wearing a hoodie but come May I could see it getting gruelingly hot and even a chore to explore come June.

Amalfi plan is hopefully a lot of seafood. Naples I’m hoping a bunch of pizza and beer.

We made it, we’re fed. I got a big bottle of Birra Moretti chilling back at the hotel room. Had a meal that my wife and kids loved, with a nice dry white.

Had a great whitefish tartare. My kid had some type of great octopus sandwich. I had linguine with some great fresh anchovies, wife had a great sea urchin pasta and kid had a simple but perfectly made cherry tomato pasta. Had a great Easter cake with ricotta that my wife loved.

Nice to go on a real vacation after all these years.

It’s a wonderful place to take a trip. One day stop by cruise doesn’t do it justice. But, with my casino wins onboard, my trip was completely free (including airfare and cat care, 👍)
