You should inquire about this. I know that back when Tropicana had a fabulous new member promo, I was told if I had not played on the property in two years..I was NEW.

Maybe they do a similar thing? Doesn't hurt to ask.

WOW, thank you so much for your review of the Plaza. My husband and I will be in Vegas this Nov. for his birthday and we now are really considering staying at the Plaza. It sounds really nice and their prices for our dates are really good. One question, if we get a "view" room overlooking Fremont, can you hear the music etc from Fremont? Any tower you would recommend. We like quiet, when we're ready to relax and sleep. Sucks getting old....LOL Thanks so much.

    K-9treatbaker,

I would recommend our South Tower, it tends to be a bit more quiet. Please stop the Host office and say hello in November. I would love to buy your husband a drink for his birthday. Inbox me your dates for your trip so I can introduce myself.

Just got back from my first Vegas trip in about 14 months. Stayed at the DTG but stopped by the Plaza to check things out. Mostly to see what they've done about the smell.

Well, there were changes made, as the smell isn't as bad as it once was, but it is still very bad and still overwhelming. To the point where we couldn't play there long and can't really consider ever staying there as a guest.

So the smell situation at the Plaza is better, but still very, very bad. I have to say I'm disappointed.

TFK I agree about the the scent of the casino. It is still very heavy on the perfume.

AirBnB Henderson. They say social distancing...Will we make this trip?

Have to say I'm impressed with:
    The new/improved pool area.
CLEAR written policies that are easily found on their website.
    FREE early check-in if available
    FREE airport dropoff too!
    FREE self/valet parking
FREE 2 bottles of water per day
FREE boarding pass printout (maximum of 2 per room)
    FREE Plaza Perks coupon book.

Still hate the teensy bathrooms and their elevators scare me.
    Massive improvements though!

The best improvement has been the communication on this board. (Gary)
It really seems like the Plaza is listening and changing for the better.

the scent at ELCO is even worse, and do they really thinks it masks the nasty stale smoke? I can never stay long in the casinos that blast you with a heavy fragrance. within a few minutes, my allergy / sinus issues are going haywire.

When we stayed there (some time ago but in recent history) the bathroom (north tower) was kind of oddly rhomboid in shape toward the right window side of the room.

I was there last week for a week, the only time I could smell the scent was when I opened the door at the Valet. I never smelt it when I was in the casino. Maybe I am immune? The live music every night was really fun, the pool looked great, and the vibe was just much more than I have seen on a random weekend in September in the past.

    ^^This!^^
The toilet/shower room is laughably tiny until you try to use it, then it's not so funny any more.
The bathroom was an oddly-shaped partially open cubby, with the widest/largest portion allotted to the open closet with suitcase stand and ironing board, then the vanity sink area which is also open to the room....then there's a 3/4 normal width door that opens to a teensy toilet and tub/shower (I think the toilet/tub were k-mart green and definitely vintage!)

I think it would be entirely possible to re-model these bathrooms into beautiful/functional if you were to use that entire cubby area.
They would have to take out the small wall and 3/4 door between the vanity and the toilet/tub room.
I would put a tub/shower at the widest part, an enclosed toilet by itself at the small end and leave the vanity in the middle.

Would the bathroom make me NOT want to stay at the Plaza? YES (it has) and NO (it won't)
YES if I'm staying with family, NO if I'm flying solo.

All of the other changes at the Plaza have been a drastic improvement so far.
They can't all be 5 star hotels.....Vegas needs 3 star hotels too!
IMO the Plaza is a fine old bird....it's got history and a quirky charm all it's own!

So you are saying these bathrooms are both "Cozy and Vintage"?

Well....I suppose you could spin it that way!
I want to measure the footage on the toilet/tub enclosure....it surely must be a custom size.
I know the toilet door is not a standard size...
How do they get around the need for disability/wheelchair compliance?
They must have new/different bathrooms in the rooms for mobility access??

Not a dig against Plaza at all....I'm sincerely curious.

I played at the Plaza a couple of months ago. What a change since the pre-renovation days, and I mean this in the most positive way. I enjoyed the food at Pop Up Pizza and had a good time on the slots. I also received a mailer for a two night comp. Will make reservations for a stay in the future.

Yes, we do have handicap accessible rooms with different bathroom dimensions. I appreciate all of the input from everybody. I think things such as bathroom size are more of a long term discussion. For the building blocks to the resurgence of the Plaza, it starts with customer service and the vibe and environment. Those are the issues I try to tackle on property and with the help of your guys feedback.

I actually found a photo of that room.

I don't remember it being particularly uneasy or uncomfortable to use, just that it was shaped strangely, almost as if it was shoehorned into the room.

I signed up for a card at The Plaza earlier this year (never had a card there before so was a new member)....didn't get squat...it was something like put 10,000 points on your card and you'll get a free T-shirt...no thanks...I won't be back to the Plaza..they really need to offer something awesome to get people to try them again, it's still such a dump inside..
