    My Trip Report

At long, LONG last we are T-minus 24 Hours away from touching down in the Holy Land after an unexpected turn of events thwarted last years attempted trip to Vegas. (My last trip which would've combined St. Patrick's Day in Dublin and March Madness in Vegas, was cancelled on this very day last year, of course due to COVID becoming the emergency we know it is now.)

    Family Backstory
However, while I was planning to go Solo for most of the week on this trip, that changed quickly when my Family decided to join in on the fun as well (And why shouldn't they!) just a few weeks ago. My sister and her fiancé live in WY, and found a crazy-cheap Delta flight that would bring them in from Saturday to Tuesday. While the fiancé was gung-ho and ready to go, my sister would only decide to join in if my mom was going to consider.

To all of our surprise, she had been looking at doing this trip in April, but once she found out that we're all planning to go, she hopped in! (Initially my stepdad was going as well, but backed out because he didn't want to wear a mask all the time.) Which only left my brother out, and by having a big ol' stash of Southwest Points and a signup bonus to hit on a credit card, he got a nice late graduation gift from yours truly!

We also decided to go because we had just lost our dog of 12+ years, who was a party animal in and of herself, and was always there for us growing up, and when we came home from school. So as we were coping her loss, we got on a tangent on how we just need to get away for a few days and have some fun, so of course Vegas was the option.

Fast forward to today, we've had some other unfortunate circumstances occur with a Grandmother unexpectedly passing, our employers/co-workers just being dramatic, the timing was right to cut loose for everyone, and we decided to go for it! So it's going to be awesome to have my immediate family with me for the first leg of the trip.

Not to mention, my cousin currently lives in LV, and only knows that I'm coming in for the week, and some of his friends are coming in on 3/18 for March Madness, but has no idea that all of us are coming in. He's practically a third brother to me, and I think it's gonna be awesome to surprise him when he least expects it.

    What's the plan? Good Question!
Similar to a TR I did back in 2017, I have a wild goal of staying at every property at least once, and this trip will be no exception. Since It's been awhile since we've been to Vegas as a family, I decided to split it up between the Strip and Downtown for my folks, to give them the best at both worlds. When they leave, I'll have another night DT, and then bouncing along the strip for my last two nights before. Here's the order we've got here:

    Mirage - 13th-15th
Plaza - 15th-17th (Family leaves on the 16th)
    Cromwell - 17th-18th
    Excalibur - 18th-19th

So yes, a lot of bouncing around, but did get offers from Cromwell and Excalibur that I couldn't pass up, not to mention having Excalibur nearby the airport for my Red Eye on the 19th is going to be very nifty as well.

Myself, Mom, and Brother are flying on SW from STL to LAS (Random stop in LIT) tomorrow, while Sister and her S/O are gonna beat us to the punch and arrive on Delta from JAC (via SLC) an hour or two earlier than us.

In regards to gaming, I still want to attempt to either have a beverage or play a game in each property on the strip at least once, and spend some time in places that I would never typically go to.
Of course, with the folks in town, that changes things a bit, but we usually just wing it half the time anyway. The only real certain meal plans we have right now is Hash House at Plaza on the 16th when they leave.
I know when they head out, I want to get to Triple George or Chicago Brewing DT on the 16th, since I've heard a lot of great things about both places.

For the solo days on 17th and 18th on the strip, I may just take it easy near some pools or do more of a north strip swing/out of strip swing and stop by Palace Station or the Orleans, still very TBD there. Mon Ami Gabi is always fair game as well, but so could Ellis Island's Steak Special.

When the guys get in for March Madness on the 18th, I know we're planning on starting the festivities on Freemont East, but will likely just hang Downtown most of the time than anything.
Friday is going to be a big blur, but may take it easy and get posted with the guys at one of the sportsbooks near us (or rooms and just bet on the apps anyway), and chill before my 11:20pm flight to CLT then to connect back to STL. (Did get it first class thankfully, so I can get a little bit of sleep, since I do have a wedding to work that evening.)

If you are around Vegas, I'd love to grab a beer or other beverage of your choice! It's been a long time coming to get back to Vegas, and it's safe to say, it's sweeter with the best company around as well. Will try to keep this as live as I can, I'm not sure if Tapatalk is still active or not. (Haven't done one of these in 3 years, go figure.) But, still want to provide as much quality content as possible for you all! Hopefully a lot of Pocket Dumps, Rally Photos, and Chip Action as well.

    Let's get this party started!

About to take off, snacks are in-hand, there’s some disgruntled people boarding this flight who wishes there wasn’t 87 people on the inital leg from STL. Too bad! PAPA’S COMING HOME!

Arrived at Mirage a few hours ago, chilling in the sportsbook with Sister’s S/O, downing some beverages. Down early on some VP and bubble craps, but wait it to get some Better tables later. Mirage isn’t known for those mainly. Got some sports bets in action too. Cheers pals!

    Howdy gang!

First two nights at Mirage are in the books, while I can tell it’s showing it’s age, it’s definitely earning a spot as one of my favorite places to play at, moving forward. Very relaxed, very good sports book too as well! Not as big as it seems on the outside, but rooms are are large and spacious as well.
Currently on the gambling side of things, some ups and downs thus far, but never really down more than like $45 max, and have been just on and off doing well depending on the property.

In regards to food, we’ve been lucky and have knocked out Alexxa’s at Paris on Saturday night and had definitely surprised my cousin with all of us arriving, he nearly was on the verge of tears, so that was special that he got to see us. Wish I would’ve got video! Also had a great meal at Wolfgang Puck’s last night as well, opting for the spaghetti and meatballs, which is still hitting my stomach today as it stands.

So far, It’s not as crammed as Vegas usually is during this time of year, but still feel a lot of energy and a lot of people are flying on in. Not a lot of open table games as well, in particular with MGM limiting to three people per BJ table, while Caesars resorts allowed 5 at one. (At least with my case at O’sheas on Saturday night.)

We’ve just went around from casino to casino but didn’t have any big hits. However, we have had loads of fun on sports betting and bubble horses as I’ll drop a few pictures what I have below.

We’re headed off to Plaza today, for my fam’s last night of the trip, while I’m here til late Friday. Downtown is always a hoot with this crew, so excited to go check out Circa later along with some Four Queens blackjack, my happy place! We may go to neon museum later today too, still TBD.

Overall, a great trip so far! Excited to see what’s to come!

What are the tables like? How many people are allowed at BJ and craps? Are there still barriers?

    And GOOD LUCK!

It was a great report there for a while, but I guess that's what happens when you are having fun in Vegas. Hard to do a live trip report, I'm sure. And Caesars is allowing 5 players to a BJ table? Are you sure that O'sheas is even a part of Caesars Entertainment? It is connected within the Linq Promenade, but I don't know if it's really considered a Caesars property.
