Located right inside the southeast doors it looks to span that east wall up to the sports book. Not sure if it will have outdoor service through that wall. One guy said the name for it is being discussed. Fillimans (sp?), 3rd St Bar, to name two.

Not a bad idea with the 3rd St stage being used for "headliner" bands.

The D outside bar must be doing great and the 4 Queens have a little bar outside next to the stage. I can see where Fremont would like to jump into that bar fray since that corner of the Canopy can get really crowded even when there is no concert.

The Fremont is a pretty small casino by Vegas standards and that wall will take out a significant chunk of their slot machines. But I'm sure they did the math and also can see that the bar/club type of atmosphere is where Vegas is headed.

I def. think it's a smart idea as long as my favorite machines are still there. :evillaugh There are a lot of people who either don't realize that drinks are free when gambling in Vegas, or would rather pay for the drinks instead of gambling cheaply.

Anybody have any pics of this in progress? I am guessing all we will see is a construction wall.

I am a big fan of Boyd and have enjoyed staying at the Fremont but the one thing I dislike about it is the lack of a really good casino bar where you could just hang out, drink and play. I think this is a great idea and I look forward to seeing it when it is completed.

You're right there. The existing bar is smack in the middle of their popular table games and sometimes it seems people are crawling all over each other to get the bar keep's attention. I don't think anyone can enjoy sitting there and play the VP machines without someone reaching past their ear to get their drink.

Last time during March Madness the Fremont was getting slammed with customers. All the tables were full and I wanted to drink a Corona they advertised for 2 bucks. No chance. The bar was 3 deep with people trying to get a beer too.

The new bar will be a welcome addition, I think.

Was at Fremont this weekend, when we checked in Friday we were certain it would open for the weekend as it looked like staff were setting up on Friday but alas it remained closed off all weekend. Peeked through the curtains a sit looks very nice. More of a DT grand vibe than a Fremont vibe.

There are also a lot of people who would rather pay $3 or more for a drink immediately than put in $20 or more for a drink in fifteen minutes.
A lot of the attraction to Fremont Street is outside, on the street.
