Looking forward to seeing what the rooms look like after. Hopefully they change out the electrical sockets so they will securely hold a iPhone charger plug in the socket.

They need to take a little of that money and find a way to improve the front desk operation. Always seems to a line there. Pissed off customer from front desk experience will not be made up for in a pretty room.

Concerned that is again a renovation of some of the rooms. The entire place needs work.

Hopefully they put a bit of that coin to upgrading the elevators. They say they've been updating them, but that's been going on for a couple of years now.

Good to see the horrid Fab rooms are getting it, but the Go rooms are not much better.

Frankly they're not THAT bad, but they just aren't maintained well. When I was there last month multiple bulbs in the fixture over the bed were out, the bathroom TV remote had no batteries, a couple of the table lamps were dead, scuffs on the walls, filthy windows, etc.

To me that's what separates lower end MGM props from CET ones. The MGM prop rooms may be small and in need of upgrades, but everything works and is clean (NYNY for ex). Every time I've stayed at a low-end CET place (Flamingo, Harrah's) it was as above. Reno'ing the rooms periodically is a good thing, but maintaining them is the mark of a well-run resort.

Hoping Bally's Jubilee rooms will reverse the trend when I'm there in August.

We used all 3 sets of elevators in November and all had been redone. No issues at all with elevators now. Fast & smooth.

I actually had no issues in the Go room either & I actually received what was an out of service room (iPod dock missing). (I had requested a room change due to being across from the club at Caesars - asked for a garden view instead. Since I didn't need the dock I was fine with it but just called down to make sure it was noted. Housekeeping supervisor checked with me on way out one morning to make sure everything else was ok in room.).

And casino was renovated last year early in the year. New carpet, new layout in the front area, some new layout and also a bunch of new tables in front of C&C.

90 million to renovate 1200 rooms? That's about $70,000 a room WoW! I know there's a lot of Flamingo hate but, I love staying here. It has been my home base for the last 4 years and will be again for my next stay. I have never had any issues staying here... I always get a go lux strip view. I have never been disappointed. I love the location.. less than 10 minutes from my room to standing on the strip. I love the vibe. All ages and classes seem to flow here without any problems. I can walk the casino floor without getting nasty glares and comments cause I stopped for 30 seconds to watch someone who was winning on a machine. You tend to get that at the more expensive casinos " how dare you put your eyes on me looky loo" I'm excited to see the changes in the rooms. I love the idea of more counter space in the bathroom and I'd love to see them get rid of the frosted door. I just hope the cost doesn't go up too much.

Thanks jgates! Good to know. I haven't stayed there in about two years, but still spend alot of time between there and the Margaritaville casino each trip. I like the updates they made to the casino.

I have never stayed there, but when I walked through there last December I really liked the common areas. Based on what I had read I thought the whole place was supposed to be worn out, but it was actually pretty nice.
It should be really nice following the refresh.

When they do a room remodel, that usually means that hallways and other common areas are getting done too. But if these are really the Fab rooms getting done, they are going to get the gut job they needed the last time.

Garden (High Roller) are definitely quieter.

South facing can be fairly quiet EXCEPT when something is going on at Drai's rooftop. If I'm going to get noise, I still prefer that to just a noisy straight on view of Caesars as if you are high enough you get a fountain view also.

When I stayed there last June I had a room across from Bally's with a view of Bellagio's fountains. I could hear Drai's at night but I'm a light sleeper and it wasn't enough to bother me.

Anyone remember how much the Linq spent on their room renovations? would be good to compare the two to get a better idea of what to expect

I just stayed at the Flamingo about 3 weeks ago. Had a Feb Exec room on the top floor, facing the garden/pools. Nice room. Spacious. Had a mini fridge. Bathroom was small, tub with shower, noting special. Very quiet. I don't remember hearing anything from outside the room all 4 nights. The elevators were great. It looks like they did get a facelift. No issues with them stopping in between floors, being jerky or busy. Even on the top floor I was usually down to the casino in a minute.
