First off @Sonya, she said she is not the queen of the universe, but in my book, she still is a queen. :) I appreciate the time and effort her and the other moderators give to this board.

I want to go to Vegas, like now, but since I have AFIB of the heart, I am hoping Christmas may be a better time to go. I can see how this is going to play out in the next few months. So for me and my hubby, it is still a wait and see game. We are seniors.

In my opinion, wearing mask and practicing social distancing is a good thing, but everyone is entitled to their beliefs.

Being kind, non judgmental, and helpful goes a long way. Please stay safe everyone, no matter where you are. :D

    https://www.cdc.gov/flu/pandemic-resources/1968-pandemic.html

In 1968 there was a pandemic flu, a million deaths worldwide, 100,000 Americans. And it was largely ignored. No social media, no 24 hour news cycle. This time we paid attention, maybe overreacted early on, but we have a lot of information to base our personal decisions on. So make your own decision and don’t expect everyone to agree. If I weren’t worried about my wife I’d be there next week partying like it’s 1999 (experienced) but I’m not going yet. Easy peasy.

I actually avoid the D in the evenings for this reason during normal times. For what it's worth, I did go ahead and book a trip to Vegas for July 4th weekend (which I recognize could be catastrophically crowded) because of the value of a free flight, free suites, free play, and no vacation days used. But since I will be there in my status as a degenerate (but antisocial) gambler, I plan to play only during the mornings, carry hand sanitizer, and wear a mask (albeit a novelty one reading "This is the Worst Masquerade Party EVER"). I normally stay somewhere downtown for most of my trip, but this just felt like an area to avoid this time around. I'm okay with spending most of my trip reading alone at an outdoor bar or relaxing in my suite and playing socially distant bingo at the Suncoast.

We all evaluate risk, every day. Though to be sure, this is a little different, in that you can transmit the risk to others. I can't give my elderly parents a car wreck or anything.

Complete social distancing in the tourist corridors is probably a pipe dream once they are even half-full. You simply will not be able to walk through any casino, down Fremont, or any of the traditional choke-points on the Strip, without getting within 6 feet of people. I think the additional marginal risk of passing by an infected person, even indoors, is minimal. To my mind, the issue is where you sit to play, and for how long.

Personally, I will assess the situation again at the end of the month. If we haven't become the United States of Covid, I will probably go in August to enter the Circa Millions.

The D isn't offering Deuces Wild Hold em Fold em Bonus poker. The main reason we visit. Went there last week and they only offered BJ, Craps and Roulette, nothing that will allow you to hold your cards. We'll be going again this morning. We each have $20 FP.

Is there a room that is quiet in this place? We stayed on the 18th (if I remember correctly) floor in Feb. At midnight you could still feel/hear the bass. On the weekend the bass didn't stop until 3am. It was the worst sleep I've had downtown. Even the Fremont was quieter.

We are going to stay at the Cal this time in September. Hoping since it's a block behind the Fremont Street Experience, it will be much quieter. Plus their clientele seems to be a quieter, cleaner bunch. We really enjoyed playing there last time. More lowkey than the D or the Nugget.

Don't get me wrong, my wife likes the slots, we love the Derby and the hot dogs at the D. I also enjoy the craps there when it's 5 dollars and we always play Jokers Wild. It just gets crazy there and we don't get good rest.

That's sad to hear. I hit a Royal with a wild in Feb and made some bank. We walked with 1K from that game. My wife loves it and will be sad if it isn't open in August.
