I was taking that as thoughts on past experiences of the property, rather than at the minute.

I get the wrong end of the stick quite often, though :)

As far as the loudness of the D, is it like O'sheas over at the LINQ? That place is super loud, they even have a live band in there sometimes.

Osheas was my fave craps table in strip, but would only play there during day unless I was really drunk.

Yes, I would liken the D to Osheas on a Saturday night. Only at the D the craps tables are more crammed than at osheas.

How was the rideshare situation downtown precovid? Was it easy to get in and out?

oh ok. It was closed when I went at end of June so had to use my 85 in food at the steak house which my mom and I both ordered shrimp scampi to eat in our rooms using my food comp so it wont go to waste and the food is really good. The D Grill being closed made us try the steakhouse. To go order is also really easy there. You walk in, order the food, pay with your players card, and wait about 15-20 minutes for the food to cook. No reservations required.

Had American Coney Island last trip, DISGUSTING. Tasted and felt like a plastic hot dog. Disappointed that Mr. Stevens would allow such crap served at one of his properties.

I had it a couple times my first few trips because I'm a huge coney fan, but I was never much of a fan either. Seeing the praises for it here I plan to give it another shot on my upcoming trip, but I did have similar opinions of it as you historically.

Tried it drunk, then sober, and once more sober to be sure. Thought it was crap all three times, lol.

Prefer the hotdogs I've had at the cinema, and not close.

Had American Coney recently during my last trip to blow food credit and it was okay. The plastic taste above mentioned is probably due to the casing of the dog. A quality authentic dog/sausage is suppose to have a strong snap from the casing when you bite into it not like the cheap mass produced variety. However, it was average to me but not gross. I enjoyed the gyro more. If you guys want some good chili dogs and burgers then Tommy's here in SoCal blows it out of the water. They also have 3 located off strip (one in henderson, and summerlin).

let's not set our standards too high when eating a $5 tourist trap hot dog. there's too many places to eat downtown to dwell on any bad eating experience.

Same here. I went end of June. Then I had 85 food credit to use and the D grill was not open, so I used it for my mom and I to get shrimp scampi to go from the steakhouse and it was really good. Defiantly worth using the 85 in food for.

Circa is opening October 28th, so hopefully more food options to use our club one food offers.

The announced restaurants were what I think we all expected - a gourmet Burger place with wings and fries, an upscale steakhouse, a pan-asian cuisine place and a deli. They also announced Project BBQ which is kind of cheating since its already there. So this gives the Club One some much needed additional restaurants (esp if you're staying at GG) but honestly, for me Project BBQ, Pizza Rock and Le Thai already gave me everything I need. Granted the letter two are a bit removed from the FSE so you have to do a bit of a walk. I also saw that Nacho Daddy (DT location only) is now a participant. I don't recall them being one before or I'm sure I would have gone there.

Although I stay at DTG I always earn enough comps at the D and GG to get at least $75 or so in comped meals which is enough for 3-4 meals for me as a solo diner easy. On top of my dining credit from DTG I never pay for a meal DT unless I'm grabbing something at McD or Noble Romans or something fast. Heck, if Club One keeps adding excellent dining choices to use these comps they may end up stealing me away from DTG afterall.

I am staying at the california and there will be nothing there to eat except the cafe for breakfast if I get up early enough (I usually stay up late when in vegas) so I will defiantly need to get out of there for lunch and dinner. No place other than Triple 777 I care for at the cal. The cal I will have 25 in food to use and can use that for breakfast on one of the mornings if I get up early enough. Triple 777 is still not open yet and that is where we usually eat when we stay at the cal. This means I will have to walk to freemont street to get food which I will be heading there each day anyway.

I have a lot of free play at the golden nugget to use on the day I get there on the 30th of October. Then on the 31st planning on heading to the D for the free play there for October, then on the 1st D again for November free play. This means I will be on freemont street each day but lunch I would love if triple 777 is open by end of October or I will have to eat on freemont street. I also hope the walkway is open again from the cal to freemont street. It was closed last time in June when I stayed at the D so I did not bother wanting to go through binions to get to the cal to play at all.

Planning on trying to get some play in at plaza and golden gate as well as circa and el cortez and grand to try and get some free play offers for my trip after this one whenever it will be. I heard those casinos you don't need a hotel stay to use free play.

I am at cosmo October 29th, then California 30th-2nd.

Sounds like a good plan. I agree right now dining on Fremont is a bit limited. I am not sure about El Co, but I can confirm that for Plaza, GG/the D (presumably Circa forthcoming) and the DTG you don't need to stay to use FP.

For my coming trip I have several hundred in FP at DTG where I am staying, then a couple hundred in FP and match plays at the D/GG as well as some FP/matchplay (choose one) at Plaza. All told I could make a day out of FP. One thing I'll note at least with respect to my offers is for the D and GG I get $X FP once during a set period of time. However with Plaza and DTG I have $X in FP/Matchplay for so many consecutive days (typically 3). So that means if I want to maximize my FP I have to visit every day for 3 straight days. Its not a real big deal for me as I stay at DTG and I don't mind walking around each day, but just something to keep in mind if you're planning out where you want to try and score the best offers.

YOU TAKE THAT BACK! I get it. We all have different tastes.

I usually get 3 dogs. 1 with ketchup, 1 with liquid cheese and 1 with ketchup and liquid cheese.

Not to derail the thread away from "Coney talk" and back to the comparison, but OP did you make a decision as to where you would likely stay?

As my trip approaches I have this debate everytime DT - although DTG has always won so far I find myself contacting my host at the D/GG about the possibility of a GG suite for a different DT experience.
