Good luck in the tournament and please post back your experience! There was a question on here recently, but I have never done a tournament there.
My last trips to the D grille have been good also. The service has improved, and the food has usually been very good.

I'm sure this is wasted on you as I know you are a Vegas Veteran @Flowers , but I thought I'd remind you to check with a host after you play and ask that the $50 tourney fee be removed. With a surprising small amount of play there you can get comps. Just swing by the hosts office on your way out. I've stopped by a number of times while NOT staying there and asked for a show comp to something I didn't have tickets for and got them with no problem.

Thanks tee! Actually, it never occurred to me to do that so many thanks for the suggestion! It's funny. I've been planning this trip for MONTHS, having easily spent a couple of hundred hours planning, and now that it is just days away I feel like I am not thinking clearly because I still have still too much to do! LOL. Thanks again for the suggestion.

the earned comps and monthly comps can be confusing, and the fact that you may have amounts from 2 different properties.
when I go to eat, I always request that they take from my monthly first so as not to deplete my earned comp balance. sometimes they do and sometimes they don't. and after all of this time, I still have not been able to login to check my offers, I just go with what they tell me at the players club.

    Going to TheD soon.

    Have $150 in comp offer
    and $60 in earned comps.

If I go to restaurant and do not use all the $150... is the balance still there for the next meal?

yes if it is still in the same offer period (month?)
I think the earned comps don't expire as long as you use your card at least once a year or something like that.

The $150 is for June. If I spend $80 at dinner, is the balance still there?

    different than the earned comps

Yeah as long as you use it by the end of June it'll be there. So you could have 3 $50 meals it you want. I think that's what you're asking

Having just been there, the simplest answer I know is everything is autoloaded, except GG free play, which you need to go to the club to activate.
(I did not actually bother to go play my $5 at the D - forgot the one time we were there, so not actually experienced)

A lazy copy paste from my TR that says the same in more words, with some additional updates:
Vue Bar is open, was kind of new smelly first visit, better second, Peroni on tap, a great italian beer we fondly remember from one of the best SF little italian restaurants. (got the giant beer I was wondering about and a stern warning from the barkeep that he shouldn't have comped it for me, I think we both survived.)
The pro move is getting up there for the beer then going down with it to use the monthly food comp on dogs and fries, chili on the side (or is that just me?)
It perfectly sticks the $15 FC I get, though I realized I get 10 from D and it also autoloads.
Both GG and D FCs autoload.
FP @ D autoloads, but gate FP needs visit to players club to activate.
D & GG music might have gotten a little bit quieter, still loudish.

    GG sportsbook is open,
it is straight back from the main entrance. They pulled out some slots to fit it in, there is almost no seating. "place your bets and get to stepping"

I have never visited the GG player's club to activate my FSP. It's always been auto-loaded same as the D once they merged.

The music has been turned down in both during the day and still is excessively loud at night. This is a welcomed change imo.

Think of your offered food comp as a food "bank." You withdraw until all of it is used up and then onto your "earned" comps. D/GG are basically combined on your card, so I tend to think of my "bank" as a total i.e. D = $100 and GG = $50 so I have $150 before I tap into my earned comps.

Wow, never tried without visiting the club, next time I will. I specifically asked this trip and they said I did need to, maybe they are just bored and like visitors.

(by FSP. you mean free slot play, not food comps, right?)
(I am using abbreviations FC = food credit, FP= Free play)

we keep meaning to use our food points at Le Thai but never make it.

    And I've added another...FSP = Free Slot Play. :D

That has been the great thing about the new slot club...everything is loaded and ready to go! I remember standing in rather long lines back in the old days. It's great to sneak in and use whatever they give me and scoot on out. Check next time for GG FP. If it's not there...ask the club why the hell not and get it fixed!

I think the GG/D no stay needed thing for either comp is a huge + for anyone looking downtown, esp if you want to seed Circa, and even if you are getting rooms elsewhere, I hope they have enough rooms for us.
    :rolleyes::woohoo::woot::clap:

(oooh i hope they aren't trying to early trigger a ADT timer by that checkin, I've done it and saved it till the end)
I nearly doubled booked rooms at the D last trip just to check em out, but figured we'd be busy enough.

just got an offer with this text I had never seen, so you are correct- maybe it depends on your level?
Slot Free Play: Your Free Slot Play is automatically loaded to your account during the specified dates at 7AM. No cash value. Not transferable.

I agree. I will be staying at Hotel Apache and then using my FSP, MP and food promo comps down the block at the D without staying there.

Anyone know why my match play went up to $200 in match play ($100 october, $100 november) and my free play stayed the same at $75 each month? I do not play tables, so is there a way I can bump up the free play and lower the match play? It does not make any sense why my match play offers doubled and free play stayed the same. I play slots. Also my food & beverage credit doubled to $100 each month. But why not the free play for slots? Does not make sense at all.

Really not sure, but from a cost to the casino the $100.00 match-play realistically costs them less than $50.00 long term, i.e. even money bet with house edge factored in depending on the game you play. This verses free play which could cost the casino roughly 85 - 99% of the free play amount, again determined on what game you are playing. Other VMB may have a different take. Just fyi, we have gotten the exact same offer for the last few months.

Is there a waiting period between offers for freeplay and food and beverage credit ( no hotel stay)? Ex. September offer used on Sept 30 and Oct offer used Oct 1st?
