Using some comp nights in January. We’ve never stayed at the Cromwell so we booked 3 nights there. Typically we stay at CP or Paris. Just thought we’d try something new. Many of the reviews I’ve read are not very complimentary. Has anyone here stayed recently and help me decide if I need to change my reservation to CP or Paris. I’m aware of the small rooms. More concerned about general cleanliness and uncomfortable beds. Thanks!!
Stayed there in February. Room was worn and needs updating, but bed was comfy and no cleanliness issues! Given the hard floors, would've been hard to miss. The location and ease of room to casino/strip was awesome for a time-limited stay.
Love the gambling there and room is nice, just too dark. Lots of dust on the wrought iron lamps next to bed.
Rooms are small and dark. I feel like these rooms are better for one person than two. If you look hard enough, and the lighting is right, you can see into the shower from the room. You have been advised. You can get from your room to the casino in about 2 minutes.
Out of the places I have stayed on my CET tour, I like Cromwell the least. The rooms are too funky and either you get loud noise from Flamingo or a view of a parking structure. But it is convenient if you want to be on the casino floor quickly.
Room cleanliness hasn't ever been a problem during any of my stays there. Bed is also very comfy. Looks like you already are aware of the downsides (small room, dark, etc.). It is definitely a different feel from staying at any of the other resorts, but sounds like that may be what you're looking for. Access to Strip and ease of coming/going cannot be beat.
Very worn property. Here are some photos from my stay last year. I'll be avoiding them unless I can get a good suite or they renovate. Photos Gross Photo Only current benefit to staying there in my opinion is the quick access to the strip.
Thanks for all the information. We decided to go to a place we know what we’re getting. Changed our reservation to Paris.
Just a reminder, Cromwell was Barbary Coast and then Bill's Gamblin' Hall. They haven't renovated since they changed the name to Cromwell. Remember how old and stingy it was as Bill's. The place is old; almost as old as the main part of Caesars.
Glad you changed to Paris. I found the Cromwell a big disappointment, especially our ‘view’ of the inside of the parking garage. And, the room wasn’t very clean, yuck. (Great strip location and fun casino, however.)
also didn't they pull a lot of tables and reduce the craps odds? Had a fairly decent time at the craps table there a good while back, though might be worth a stay, did some research, reached same conclusion about room quality. If I've made it this far outside the CET universe, feel like I can keep it that way. (No shade on any y'all that do, we don't partake in any locals)
The cromwell floors are wood, so dust can build up really easily. They dont seem to vacuum or sweep under the furniture very well at all, and I don't know why but they do not seem to mop very often either, so you can get that build up of ick on the floors pretty easily. The furniture is often beat up pretty bad in the wear and tear spots. The shower tiles can sometimes be loose or missing, and the little window in the bathroom can sometimes be busted and not close all the way (leading to a bit more noise from the outside getting in). That all being said, you can get from your room to the strip in a minute or two, which is what I usually want when travelling solo. The whole place just smells better, pretty great HVAC there. You mentioned Paris, I find Paris rooms are ROUGH these days. About as rough as anything the Cromwell has to offer if not worse. The Versailles tower is obviously better, but I find that many of the rooms given to me there have building defects that are pretty noticeable, and that carpet smells horrible. I have no idea why the carpet seems to still be offgassing but its really bad.
