I hope this is not a duplicate (I looked for & did not find a post)
See important info under "Identity Points"

    Dear Guest,

Our entire team at The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas hopes that you and your loved ones are staying safe and doing well as we attempt to navigate through these unexpected times. Upon the official 30-day closure mandate issued by Nevada Governor Sisolak, effective beginning Wednesday, March 18 at 12 a.m. midnight, The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas will discontinue casino gaming operations, followed by a temporary closure of the full resort on Wednesday, March 18, 2020 at 12 p.m. PST. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, and support this directive as it is essential to the health and wellbeing of our guests, employees and community.

    Identity Member Offers
To allow you to focus on what matters most, we have made the decision to pause Identity Membership & Rewards communications for the foreseeable future. However, that does not mean your offers have gone away. You can review your offers by logging in to your Identity Online account at any time—meaning your best offer will be ready and waiting when you choose to travel again.

    Identity Points & Benefits
As a thank you for your loyalty, all Identity Points & Tier Benefits that are scheduled to expire prior to June 30 will be extended to December 28, 2020.

If you have any questions related to Identity Membership, your benefits, or your offers, please reach out to your Casino Marketing Executive or contact the Identity team directly at [email protected].

If you are interested in booking a future stay prior to August 31, 2020, we will allow those reservations to be changed or cancelled at no charge up to 24 hours prior to your arrival date.

We are extremely grateful for your support and patronage of the resort and are dedicated to keeping you updated through this dynamic situation. When travel conditions improve, we look forward to welcoming you back at The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas again soon.

Interesting that they are leaving the changes/cancellations free of charge until August 31. Seems to indicate they are not even sure what is going to happen this summer and giving people the option to book and then change later with no penalty. Smart idea.

I am hoping the other two (CET and MGM) take note of the extension and do the same.

Penn (M, Tropicana Las Vegas, etc.) already sent out similar email. Offers, tiers, points will not expire during the closure.

Appreciate what they're doing. Wish they'd extended offers too. Some of my offers, with "book by" deadlines, have expired as planned

I was going to book an offer that's no longer there.

No hard feelings. Probably just happened automatically by computer. Disappointed nonetheless

I agree, CR and Mlife need to do the same. Either lower the tier requirements to re qualify, extend the earning period, or ideally a combination of both.
A lot of people won't be in a position to travel to Vegas for a while after this financial wrecking ball. Show your guests you actually care about them, not just their cash.

Good move on their part. Up until 2 days I was still getting dumb CET marketing emails for standard low free play being offers for MARCH and APRIL. I forwarded it to my LV host. Was nice about it but basically said CET marketing needs to get it together. If they want to send an email, be a tad more thoughtful about it. Geez. Seems like they could do "check in" emails every now and then or nothing at all, at least now, given that they already sent the general "we care about you/hope to see you soon" email.

Note that for now, it only covers stuff that expires prior to June 30. So if your tier anniversary date is after that, you're not covered (yet).

I logged in today and my current offer expiration had been pushed out from mid-May to August 31. So I booked for the end of August.

Just checked my online Identity Card account.
My tier level offers extend til the end of December.
All the other types of offers including entertainment, concerts (mostly all canceled by now) etc., are through June.

Hope you're doing well and hanging in there, @Chuck2009x.

I called to cancel my April comp nights at Cosmo and said I would call back to re-book for August when I got my comp offers. The agent said he could extend my offer and re-book for August so I did. Could be helpful for anyone waiting to re-book.

Dumb question, I am not seeing the points extension verbiage on my account anywhere...is this policy for everyone, or only for some people? (My tier expires in May.)

Not a dumb question, Multi. :)
Are you talking about the dates from your Identity Card online account offers?
My contact at Cosmo told me tier and points for future bookings will extend until things are back up and running, if that helps at all.
Nothing official. :peace: We'll see how it shakes down.

@ardee you are always such a ray of sunshine! @win4me had a great post/info saying Cosmo had an update under See important info under "Identity Points".... saying tiers that, were ending in May are extended, but I didn't have that under my points section. Since I wasn't finding it, I was just thinking maybe the extension only applies to certain people. (Or I was looking in the wrong spot... Wouldn't be the first time!)

I've dropped down to sterling before and had to go back up to gold, so it's not a huge deal, I was more curious than anything.

Like you said though, in classic Ardee wisdom, we'll see how it shakes out, only time will tell!

Love you tons @ardee and I hope you and the hubs are safe, happy, and mastering mean bloody Maries and boobie pretzel bites at home. If you haven't tried making them yet, you should, I know you'll master them!!!!

Note that this mentions Identity Points and Tier Benefits but not tier points. A really narrow reading of this would be:
    • Identity Points (that can be used as freeplay or resort credit) normally expire after 12 months of no activity but if your last earning was prior to June 30, 2019, they will extend the expiration of the points to December 28, 2020. But if your last earning date was say, July 3, 2019, your points will still expire on July 3 of this year unless they push this waiver out another month.
    • If your anniversary date is prior to June 30 and you don't re-up your tier by then, you will still get your tier benefits until December 28, but your anniversary date will NOT reset
      • As an example, you are Gold and your anniversary date is June 15. You can't make a trip to re-up Gold until after then. You will still get Gold tier benefits until December 28, but your anniversary date won't change and your tier itself will still drop on June 15.
In reality, I think it could be pretty complicated and confusing for them to extend the benefits without actually resetting your anniversary date.

If your tier anniversary date is prior to June 30 and you're not going to get there in time to re-up it, keep an eye on that and see what happens - whether your anniversary date gets reset, or whether it doesn't get reset but they still show your "old" tier level.

Sorry for the slow response @Multifarious5. What my OP meant was, See important info under "Identity Points" in the letter I posted, not on your Cosmo account. I am guessing that any extension of benefits, tiers, etc. may not be sorted out on individual accounts until they are back in business. But Cosmo may be on top of all this and updating accounts now. Thanks @ardee & @Chuck2009x for your responses.

Chuck you are always so good at translating my usually awkward phrasing. :)

Tier benefits are what I was urious about, if my gold would extend. But per your above quote, you're right, if it's benefits, but not tier points, who knows how that'll shake out.

@win4me your post was WONDERFUL. I just couldn't find the details on their site, even if logged, so I was just thinking only certain people might be eligible, or I just have crappy attention to detail :)

All in all, I love Cosmo, so it was more curiosity on how it'll unfold for me personally more than anything else.

I hope you all have a nice, safe, healthy and happy weekend, and thank you all!
