Saturday 24th Feb. So, this is 10 years of Vegas visits, well it will be 10 years in October. I’m going to mark this though as its a 10-year celebration. It all begins in Manchester UK and I check in with Virgin Atlantic for my very long day. My trip was altered as Delta changed their flight after I booked which mean I have 5 hours in Atlanta. I have an extra legroom seat and it’s a comfy flight over to Atlanta. The time when you don’t mind a delay doesn’t happen. I arrive in nice sunshine on time, I make my way through to immigration and it’s not a big queue. They announced on the flight that Atlanta were trialling a system, so you didn’t have to fill out the blue customs form. I use the machines that I have used before and printed my slip out and took it around to the desk. A couple of questions later and I’m through to luggage collection and it’s already there. I recheck and then it’s what to do next after getting through security. Being as I have plenty of time I walk to the next terminal to waste some of that time. I find a bar and indulge myself in a few drinks. A guy sits a seat away from me and then two ladies turn up. They ask if we can all move up, so they can sit together, this is no problem. The guy and the two ladies start talking and I carry on drinking, I get involved in the conversation and the guy is on his way to Australia. He has flown from Memphis to Atlanta, then he goes on to L.A. Next, he flies over to Australia via Singapore. He then is doing a short tour around Australia before a return to the states. It’s all for work but that is one hell of a trip. He goes for his flight and the women also go, he then comes back as there is a delay on his flight. We have a beer and a chat before he goes for the last time. I’m getting a bit hungry now and I go in search of food. I take the easy option that is Subway. After that I get the plane train to terminal A for my flight. I find another bar for a beer and then a walk around waiting for my flight. I notice a flight going to Bozeman, this makes me chuckle as I remember it from an episode of Big Bang Theory. Soon my flight is ready to board, and I get in line and get on the plane. As I get to my seat I notice there is a guy already sat there. Rather than say that’s my seat, I do the check the boarding card thing, even though I know it’s my seat. He moves and explains that he may need to use the bathroom a few times. I said that’s ok as I have an arthritic knee and I need to move about as well. He wasn’t getting my aisle seat anyway. We take off and we are still climbing after a few minutes when he asks about using the bathroom. I tell him he can’t at moment, just then a woman gets up and blows my advice straight out of the window. He then asks a stewardess if he can use the bathroom. She gives that conservative and I never told you this answer. She said, I can’t say yes, and I can’t no, it’s up to you. So, he wants to get up and I let him for the first of many times during the flight. I fill my time with watching American Top Gear, I didn’t realise this has had a reboot. The Brit version gets Matt Le Blanc and the U.S. version gets a British motoring journalist I have never heard of. Soon enough I’m hitting the tarmac of McCarran Airport, well the plane does but you get what I mean. I get out and it feels so good to be back and soon on the tram and then I get my luggage. I get a cab to Tuscany and the check in is quick and soon enough I’m my room. Tuscany have just finished a refurb of the rooms which include furniture and bathroom. It’s a quick fresh up and unpack before I’m walking up Flamingo towards the Strip. I walk over to the Linq Promenade and first call is Tilted Kilt. I’m greeted by one of the girls who I know and she’s glad to see me. The feeling is mutual as well. I have a beer or two in there and three guys come in and sit near me. After a while one of them is getting the shots in and I can guess the others didn’t want them. I was laughing, and the guy just said. “Your getting one too.” Only in Vegas does a guy you have never spoken to buy you a shot. I’m not sure what it was, I think it was Bourbon. I get chatting to one of his friends, he’s a Cubs fan but I don’t hold that against him. They head out as it comes to closing time and I have a last beer in there. Despite being up for what seems forever I’m wide awake. That is the power of Las Vegas, I head over to O’Shea’s for some more drink. I end up chatting to the guys from Tilted Kilt for a while before they disappear. I go back to Tuscany and I have a couple of beers while chatting to the staff. I feel then its time for some sleep. Coming up on this report, Big Elvis, first time in a strip club and a sombre visit to south Strip.
