It seems like I just got back from my July trip to LV but I'm horny for Vegas so this trip, which has been in the works for about a year, is just what I need. A year ago I was in the hospital having major surgery and during my recuperation I was watching all of the college football bowl games barely daring to dream of Las Vegas. I told myself that I would definitely go out there during the week of Thanksgiving and watch all of the great college football rivalry games during Thanksgiving weekend if my recovery went well. I'm very glad to say my recovery has been splendid and I'm feeling tip top. Well here it is, one LV trip under my belt since my operation, but this is the one I've really been looking forward to for quite some time.
This will be a solo trip and I'll be staying in a Rush Tower room at the Golden Nugget. My plan is to spend the days and early evenings on the strip, mostly watching football in the sports books, and spend the night time downtown playing Blackjack. I have lots of things I plan to do. Some are new, some are traditions I carry out on each trip and there are others that I never quite seem to get to but will make an attempt, however abbreviated, on this trip. Here are some of the highlights:
Hope you guys enjoy the Live TR. I plan on posting lots of pics and reporting on some of the things going on in Vegas. If anyone wants me to check something out let me know. I'll do my best to help out. I really like doing Live TRs so if I can give anyone any info they need just give me a shout.

- At least one or two visits to Pop Up Pizza. Ditto for Triple George.
- Attend what looks to be a very fun slot pull at the Mirage on 11/25. I'll be wearing my VMB wristband loud and proud.
- Hit the Gamblers Bookstore for a couple of interesting books about Las Vegas.
- Go to Spinettis to get one of two remaining chips that I need to complete my collection of having at least one chip from every casino that has ever been on the Strip (between MB - Hacienda and Stratosphere - Vegas World). All I need to finish off what I started in 1983 is a chip from the Flamingo Capri and one from the Moulin Rouge.
- Get a sport coat from Hugo Boss. This is a tradition.
- Take a 90 minute limo drive up and down the strip one evening taking in the sights. This is also something I do every trip.
- Craps on Saturday night in the original part of Caesars Palace. Been doing this on every trip since '83.
- Shake Shack. Went there for the first time in July and really liked it.
- Have a Black and Tan or two or three.......on the patio at Nine Fine Irishmen at NYNY.
- Get a 50th anniversary chip at Caesars.
- Thanksgiving dinner at Mon Ami Gabi. I've had reservations since July.....gotta avoid those buffet lines on Turkey Day!!!
- LOTS of time planting my butt in the luscious sports books on the strip soaking in the best weekend of college football of the year.
- Strip walk. One side per day. I like to gamble a little in each casino, taking my time, and getting a chip from each casino. I don't have many green chips from the strip in my collection so this trip I'll be saving a green chip from each BJ session.
- The search continues of where to find a nice place on the strip to enjoy a tasty meal of Walleye.
- Spend some significant time at Lagasse's Stadium @ Palazzo.
