Did Aria race book have enough tellers? Aqueduct kicks my butt except for the turf races, not much of that now. Can’t figure it out, I do well at Belmont And Saratoga-same Horses, Hicks and trainers...... Seems like everywhere you have to ask now for drink vouchers. They’ll give them easy enough, just didn’t used to have to ask.
I slept later than I planned this morning, so didn’t really have much time to do a lot else. I ate at the Pyramid cafe (perfectly average), placed some futures bets (almost certainly losers), played some craps (a total wipeout) and bought some overpriced souvenirs at the gift shop for in-laws and nieces and nephews. I didn’t take many pics on my last morning, so please accept this photo of the bathroom outside of the Luxor Sportsbook as compensation. It’s not a particularly nice bathroom, but I’ve used it more than any other bathroom in this town by far (except for maybe the Ceasars Sportsbook) so it has a special place in my heart. I’m now at the Club at LAS, drinking a terrible Bloody Mary and waiting for my flight. I haven’t done a full accounting, but I’m definitely ahead overall for the trip gambling-wise. I estimate that the whole ten days, including flights, hotels, taxis, food, gambling, tips, souvenirs, etc will came to less than $500. Who says Vegas isn’t a value any more? Thanks for following along and for all of the encouragement along the way. I haven’t really responded to many, but I’ll try to go back and answer questions if I can. Take care and good luck!
It was very slow, so yes. But I know it gets busy, and I can imagine the lines getting long. The layout is a little weird. Still, if you want to spend a morning during the week betting horses, it’s a very comfortable place to do so.
Congrats on the Royal! Thanks for taking the time to bring us along on an epic trip! AND you got props from the @tdhoier himself, the godfather of epic reports!
And hit up the restaurant for breakfast. A bit slow but loads of great food for a small price. After, play a bit of VP on the way out. We haven't been in a few trips but it was a must stop when we used to rent a car.
Great report. I really enjoyed it. I hope the birth of your son or daughter goes smoothly. It would be the first win of a long trip.
Or -- they might not have enough $$$ to make it worth robbing! Plus, I don't think I've EVER seen that Sigma Derby table that vacant!
I very seldom post, but your picture of Golden Gate took me back to my trip about a month ago. I was sitting two tables down from where you took the picture playing Let it Ride. I stayed at Ballys and the picture of the lobby and bar at the bottom of the escalator made me smile. Thank you
Great report, thx. 500 bones for the entire trip is pretty damn good; at $50 a day that’s a definite win. Well done, the royal no doubt helped.
