Tell me about Oscar's (Plaza's Steakhouse)

So, after a much needed short-term bender spent on the Strip, I'm headed back to Vegas next week. Who doesn't need 2 separate Vegas trips in 8 days?

In the last few years, I've become an unabashed downtown guy. I mostly drink, gamble and eat and as much as I enjoy a top notch meal, I can't eat like that every day and I hate having to pay the 100% strip tax for what should be standard food. I could live in the 777 pub for lunch and casual happy hours/dinners with friends.

The Nugget has been my go-to for higher-end meals downtown, along with some off-casino joints.

But as the Plaza's figuring things out and executing their work, they're coming with some serious game. Hash House is a fantastic (if f'ing huge! It's big enough for 2!) breakfast. The sushi place there is decently priced (far more so than Red Sushi @ Nugget). And I'm quite curious about Oscar's.

Has anyone been? How's the food? Are the drinks what you would expect from a place bearing the name Oscar B Goodman? And, then, there's this cheeky bit from the Plaza website:

I don't know how to even interpret this. It could be anything from modern day Geisha girls to.. a seriously good cover for a prostitution ordering service.

So, I'm curious - has anyone been? What's your take on this place?

We dined at Oscar's a couple of weeks ago. Nice decor. The price is about what you'd expect from an upscale steakhouse. I had the filet mignon, and it was cooked perfectly and very tender. Service was very good. Only had wine, so can't comment on the booze.

They have a few very attractive, very well-endowed, women wandering around. We joked that they were taking "the girls" out for a walk to show them off every time they walked past our table :evillaugh I assume those are the ladies mentioned in your quote. I would also assume that they are available as dining companions to draw in the solo businessmen that would otherwise not dine at an upscale place by themselves. Then again, it is Vegas. Who knows

I would likely dine there again.

 

I was there 3 weeks ago. I had a comp.
I had very good lobster bisque and a filet with
red wine. I would go there again. This was a solo
trip, and I was dining alone without my husband,
and was surprised when one of Oscars' broads sat at
my table. She was nice enough, but I felt that
as another woman, that this was awkward. Fortunately,
it didn't last long since I was leaving.

 

I have eaten there twice and it was ok both time but not as good as Triple George. Will likely not return. And Triple George has a great cocktail list as well.
