I was in Vegas this week and needed a taxi from Bally's. There were about 25 people in line, so I showed both my VIP card and my Diamond Elite card (after all it cost me alot of money for those). The attendant at Bally's told me they no longer have a diamond/seven stars line and don't honor them. I was told I have to wait in line behind everyone (I'm sure everyone in line had spent the same amount of money and had the same loyalty as me - <cough, cough>).

So I just ordered an Uber instead. But my question for fellow VMBers is not related to taxi's versus Uber/Lyft....my question is this - is this new for all CET casinos to no longer honor diamond/seven stars as a separate taxi line or just Bally's?

    According to this:

    https://www.caesars.com/myrewards/benefits-overview

It appears that there are no longer any priority lines for Diamond/7*

Jeez. I could maybe understand them not having a priority line for Diamond, given how relatively easy it is to get, but I equate 7* to MGM Platinum, and Plat definitely gets you line-skipping privileges for the taxis.

Dang, this is a major negative against CET for me. I only used $100 celebration dinner, no resort fees and taxi line benefit (despite the looks from people). I didn't even use the the 4 drinks per day.

What about the sports book? I always considered the special line in the sports book one of the major perks when I looked to see the regular line wrapping around the entire book on a Sunday morning.

What does it cost Eldorado to have a 7* priority taxi line?

I'm not sure it does cost anything. Are they having issues with hotel guests being pissed about getting cut in line?

I have wondered at the fairness of a casino determining who gets 1st access to 3rd party transportation. Should they be able to determine who gets on a bus, shuttle or uber first.

Wow this must be a recent change. I remember seeing a separate line on one of my trips this year (my first being in Sept and Oct).

Having read this thread, I kinda remember not seeing a separate line in my trip last week.

I never used the benefit but I had it as an option in my head if Uber was surging too high and I didn't feel like taking the bus.

It sure seems like the benefits are getting reduced a lotta CET. This is t a huge deal by itself but it seems like every few weeks we hear of a new benefit that's gone.

Valid point - I guess the difference is that the taxis (formally or not) queue up to provide taxi rides, as well as hotel staff who actually flag down the taxis, help people and luggage in/out, etc., so (when/where it’s busy - I really never had a wait getting a taxi at Delano and Vdara, and only a short one at CP) there can be a corresponding queue to catch a ride, and some “benefit” that can be given on club status to cut the line.

Wow. Just wow. I used the priority taxi line at Bally's and I think somewhere else CZR on my thanksgiving trip, so this is a brand spanking new non-cost-cutting benefit cut. And I understand the sentiment about controlling access to 3rd party transport, but that is the way at all the strip casinos, most nice hotels in the world, and even the airport, so it's not that "out there" as ideas go. I recall the night we were stuck at Sahara waiting for a ride back to Caesars Palace and there was no attendant. It was a mess. Plus, the cab drivers likely wouldnt wait in an orderly, out of everyone's way, line if they werent forced to. As much as a nightmare as it can be driving through main valets at strip casinos, I imagine it'd be much worse without the cab control.

To be fair, it's a bit complicated when it comes to taxis and resorts. Taxis are forbidden to pick up passengers from the street or bus stops, so resorts are really the only option, and those are private property. There are also various union-related issues that touch on property control of taxi operations. But the casinos already determine things relating to those other types of transportation; most casinos have designated pickup and dropoff spots for buses, shuttles, and rideshare that are distinct from the main taxi queue.

I used to get a cab at the Valet parking on the side entrance. I’m 7* but just interested if there is taxi pickup there or only Limo.
