So I am looking for a good tasting menu to try out in December. I have looked at Alize's menu and I am not quite sure that's what we want. The price point is fine and the view seems incredible, I don't seem to love the menu though. I haven't totally ruled it out, but just looking for opinions on others that are worthwhile. We are pretty adventurous eaters and are not drinkers so wine pairings and what not are not important.

We are doing Carbone for another dinner just looking for another nice meal for Friday or Saturday night. TIA.

If you look at the Bellagio website, Jasime, Picasso and LeCirque all have tasting menus.. Don't know how you feel about their prices.

I wonder why you do not love this Alize menu. I'm craving for that soup. Perhaps if you point the weak parts of the menu we'll know exactly where your taste buds want to lead you. Anyway, I'Atelier at MGM is wonderful too; have not been there in many years, but still remember the caramelised quail stuffed with foie gras. Alex's tasting menu at Wynn is also wonderful, but you will need a time machine for that, LOL.

You are right after looking at it again, it does seem to hit all of the high points. I think the first 3 course are those that concern me a little. Maybe it is my inexperience with the options. I know they get great reviews, I guess my real question is at that price point, $150 or so per is that the best or would you try something else. I've never done a tasting menu like these before, what is the overall experience like? I know all the food is really going to be excellent wherever we go, but service, decor, ambiance, the whole package is also important.

As for the MLife suggestions, they are great, but I find their website so difficult to get good information about their restaurants other than just the menu itself, so comments from firsthand experience are appreciated.

There is a review of é, which gives some indication as to the kind of experience it provides.

I really enjoyed it, and would definitely like to do it again sometime, but the guys I go with now aren't into that kind of dining.

If you want to try Alize with a more limited menu, check out the deal on Travelzoo. I think its a specialized menu for 2 for $99.

I have had the tasting menu at Giada's (twice going on three times) and found it to be excellent and reasonably priced (120 per person with a two person minimum)

I did it at Giada's as well and thought it was outstanding.
