Trips to Las Vegas

Hello,

I have been reading up on comps and back end comps. I'm really new to the whole thing of getting free stuff. So we usually stay at the Orleans and they have the emerald lounge where the host office are also. Do you have to be an emerald card hold in order to talk to a host. On our next trip we will probably be hitting the sapphire level and i was not sure if that grants me access to a host. Should i just wait for mailers or logging in to the
b-connected site and see what offers start to come in. Can the employees at the b-connected desk help you out with comps also or is it only the host.

Thanks in advance

Two trips ago, I walked into the Emerald Lounge to ask a host to review our play. I knew it wasn't spectacular, but thought I might as well.

The host looked at our play and then called her boss over. We had a nice chat about their expectations (gambling), moved onto golf (I told him we were golfing that trip). After some "schmoozing" he took off one full day (including resort fee) of our stay.

I guess it never hurts to ask .... ;)

GG

Anyone can enter the Emerald Lounge and speak to a host. I encourage everyone who stays and plays there to do so. The worst they can say is no, you are not eligible for any comps. They are usually polite about it if they can't help.

What you can't do is avail yourself of the other amenities. Which aren't much anyway IIRC. Bottled water and coffee maybe? A few chairs/couches. It's not a Diamond lounge at CET that's for sure.

Good luck!!

@tubbyrob - Like the others have said, you do not need to be emerald to enter the Emerald lounge and speak to a host. At the end of my stay, I sit down and speak to one of the hosts on duty and see what they can do with my bill. I'm a mid-level sapphire.

There is a host office right next to the B-connected desk, to the right I believe, glass doors. That's where the B-connected person sent me when I inquired about getting some meal comps........

Yes, right. That is the host office for everyone.
The Emerald lounge host is supposed to serve VIPs,
but I guess anyone can get in and they won't kick you out.

This is great info thanks everyone.

@phantomfj i will have to look into this office. That something i was thinking about going and asking for a meal comp or i once talked to someone at a table saying that they received comped movie tickets to the theater upstairs. Something like that would be awesome.

If you are playing table games, ask the pit boss.

My usual line is...."Could you please check and see if I/we have played long enough for XYZ comp?"

Not sure how this works with slot or VP play. In the past I've been told to use my points. But you might as well go ask a host - the worst they can say is no, or use your points.

Good luck!

Very easy to call the casino and reach a host on duty as well, or if you are there ask the pit to call you a host.

The Emerald Office is suppose to be open from 8am to midnight.
Last Thursday evening I wanted to get my play checked for a large meal, that I charged to my room.
It was 1030pm, and as I was walking toward the office, I saw a man lock up and leave.
I thought he was just going on a break, so I waited around for over a half hour, losing more $$.
More people walked up to the door. I then noticed it said reopen at 8am. Grrrr.

I checked out Friday 4:10am, one clerk on duty.
I asked about getting my meal comped and/or using my points.
She called someone and it was covered!
So, yeah, always ask..no matter whom!

BTW, I did 6700 pts 1st night and 8000 2nd day.
