Trips to Las Vegas

hey guys....
I noticed there are a lot of slot players here... I'm in my mid 40s and when i started out back 20s playing mostly BJ not much of slot and even to this day I mostly play table and perhaps play random $20 here and there.. so I would vote for table
just wondering what does most people play?

Table: 75%> vote Table
Slots: 75%> vote Slots
Both: 50%_50% vote Both

I want to play table games but I get overwhelmed. I am able to play Roulette - no brainer. But stress on the other ones - am I good enough? I did buy a book that I will start reading again to help me understand the game. Maybe then I will get some table games going!

I mostly play video poker, which I think is probably worth differentiating versus a slot machine.

Slots for me, i do play BJ and roulette but only the electronic versions, i dont like to be around people

I used to be mainly craps and bj but since the minimums and rules have changed it forcing to spend more time at the slots. I know I can still find low craps and 3:2 bj off the strip but Vegas is the strip to me.

Eighty percent Video Poker, fifteen percent Craps, five percent slots. Most table games are too slow paced and I'm still a five dollar player even though I was a five dollar player twenty five years ago. Had to buy in at a fifteen dollar craps table at Cosmo last year and found it annoying to do the math.

I'm right at that threshold of 75% so right now I voted tables. But I can see myself in a few years being a 50-50 table and machine player. Although as Tring mentioned, it wouldn't be slots but rather Video Poker.

both. years ago I was almost strictly table games, and would come home a winner sometimes. now with slots in the mix, I am almost always a net loser. note to self: stay away from slots!

Both. Not sure if it's equally I think more likely 60-65% table games. Slots is a change of pace game to change my luck. I am starting to play more video poker now too.

None of the answers apply. But, mostly slots.

I suggest folks play what makes them happy.

Yeah for past year I only played baccarat 95%, Ultimate hold em 3% , slots 2% I never have a luck with any type of slots
And I would really hate to pay any taxes on it when I hit it for more than $1,200...

I can see where people can be overwhelmed w table games... not sure what to do regards to rules.
I mostly play baccarat, it's simple heads or tails you should give it a shot...I been doing pretty good with it.

I'll play slots all day and lose ....then try a table game and suddenly win.

Very strange.....

I can totally understand why some folks avoid table games. For one thing, minimum table limits are more than most slot pulls. And aside from having to know the rules, mechanics, etiquette, and possibly having to actually think, there's the risk of being chastised and humiliated by other players. However, between the plethora of books, articles, videos, and online practice programs, there are ample opportunities to learn - for free. Of course, there's nothing like having an experienced player by your side when getting started, but you can certainly do it yourself. I know – I never had a coach, and probably committed every possible "sin" at every table game I attempted. Learning Craps and Pai Gow took some time, but well worth the effort. If one game isn't working, I have half a dozen others in my repertoire from which to choose.

I sometimes play bar top video poker when I need a break from the "real" games, and steer clear of the slots. And speaking of slots, there are two fundamental truths (though I can't take credit for them) 1. Someone is going to win the big jackpot; and 2. It isn't going to be you! :)

My first half-dozen or so trips, I played 90% tables. Then on a trip, I got really killed at my first table session and switched to slots for the rest of that trip and the next one.

Then I went back and looked at my losses as a % of total amount bet, and I found they were typically about the same for tables and slots. But the comps for slots are wayyyyyy better in comparison, because the HA is typically 5x on slots than it is on tables.

So now I'm about 90% slots, 10% tables. I still get a few lengthy craps and baccarat sessions in during each trip.

But it's also a function of room prices and minimums on the strip vs off-strip. If I was to switch part of my trips to say, Orleans, or some other place that has $5 craps all the time, I'd play a lot more craps there, because I'd be able to bankroll playing full odds on 3 bets all the time and still easily cover the room price.

How many times have I said to my host.- "You're $5 machines are just sucking", and her answer is usually "Well so and so picked up $125,000 last night on them, so they ARE working!"
