We had purchased Wanna Get Away tickets on southwest for a trip scheduled July 7th however we had to cancel. Contacted SW and had no problems, now have 2 separate credits for about $240 a piece. My question is how long do I have to use them? I know it can only be used towards the person originally on the ticket but not sure how long the credit is good for?

    Thanks.

Agree, and you have to fly by that date.

Make sure you keep track of your original confirm numbers.

If you book using your funds will the expiration date change? Anyway to get around this?

For the most part, there is no way around the expiration date--I have gotten screwed doing this. If my trip isn't SOLID, I don't use credit!
THAT BEING SAID--if it is a large amount, call them AFTER it expires & explain that you were unable to use it. They will usually charge $75 & extend it another 6 months. I have done this twice.

I was just forced to book a trip to Vegas when I discovered that I had a decent amount of credit that was going to expire Sept 4 :) I really should do a better job of keeping track, but I am constantly tweaking my plans. It was a nice little surprise when I went through all my old confirmation codes.
