I want to thank everyone for their ideas, comments, responses and suggestions. I was orginally thinking about Caesars, but because of your suggestions, I'm looking at Bellagio and Wynn's now.

The reason I want to stay in a suite for only 1 day is that I am a "cheap bastard" and I'm also considering the other friends and family that will be coming to LV for my celebration. They will not be staying at the resort that I choose, but they will want to be close to it.

I should have added in my "requirements" that I will pay extra for early check-in. The reason for that is, I am not flying or driving to the resort/suite but arriving there by bicycle. I am planning a "Jack Lulane" celebration by riding a bicycle from Phoenix to Las Vegas in July. I will be staying at Sunset Station the night before and it will be about 11 miles to my final stop. That should put me there before 11 AM and I plan on occuping the suite tell the last minute. At that time I'll go back to being a "cheap bastard" and move to the hotel that all of my friends will be at.

If you want a real nice room that is called a suite and without a terrible price, what about V/P?

Like many of the suites you will end up with, it is one big room. But, if only you, then??

Then again, that does not meet your requirement for separate bedroom.

I understand the "cheap bastard" thing, but why blow money on something that you only get for one night.

As to paying for early checkin - there has to be a room available. All the money is not going to help if they do not have any rooms to give you. So, you could wind up with a 4pm or later checkin.

Will your "friends" be visiting you?

    You could try the Tropicana.

Their spa suites are a seperate living room and bedroom and two bathrooms. They also have the Paradise suites. I haven't stayed in that one, but they are two seperate rooms.

I'm pretty sure it will be under $1000 per night too.

That one night will be my 60th birthday so it is important to me; and my friends will be visiting me in the suite. In fact, I would like to have a party there that my friends and family would not want to leave for the excitement of the casino downstairs.

Dont know why u dont want to stay at the Cosmo then. The wraparound with a view facing the B fountains sounds like the perfect suite for what you are looking for. Otherwise i think you should go with the B or Wynncore since they do have the best suites in town but hard to match the view with the balcony that u get at cosmo for just hosting a 1 night party

I saw on another board today that the Mirage Villas and Lanais are now rentable from the website. A one bedroom Lanai starts at $750 per night and looks great (including a backyard and private pool).

Perhaps this would be an option for you.

damn they're getting desperate over there! I guess running off all the bigger players there's nobody to stay in them anymore.

Do you really think Vegas ran off the bigger players or is this just a result of the spiraling economy?

Sure a lot of the Asian players are happy with Macau but I've had to tighten my spending and I'm sure lots of low-rollers like me have as well. Gone are the days when middle-class professionals could take out a second or walk the Strip with $100k credit lines.

My next trip is coming up soon and the only reason I'm going is because the Cosmo finally got smart and comped me two nights. Even at the casino rate, I'd never pay for a room at the Cosmo. Too expensive.

not all of Vegas, just the Mirage. they've been systematically running off all their big players for the past few years. and the economy stopped spiraling a while ago. now we're into the bubble phase before the next spiral down the road.
