    Hi everyone,

I'm used to playing $5 tables but for my upcoming trip I'll be playing some higher limits. My dumb question is this:

Where I would normally tell the dealer "$6 on 6 and 8", does that bet have to be (for easy math) $12 on a $10 table, $18 on $15, and $30 on a $25 table? Or is that bet not subject to a minimum? Thank you!

They still will take $10, $15, $25 bets but should advise you to use your numbers above. I know Aria did last week. There was this lady who was doing the $25 6 and 8, and the dealers (and me) were advising that if it gets rolled, that’s the better bet for sure...

Your numbers are absolutely correct. The math always gets fuzzy to me at $15 for some reason - with "some reason" being alcohol.

for me not so much fuzzy @ $15, but awkward-

I've told many a pit boss that the house would be better off @ 10 (more rolls/bets per hour) because $15 slows down the flow on both sides of the table with chip handling:

place the 6 and 8, on a $10, $12 each, toss a quarter get $1 change, when it hits 3 reds form dealer, toss a buck

on a $15, $18 each so 6 reds, 6 whites handed over, or a quarter and 3 reds, $4 bucks back for example,

when it hits, dealer has to give 4 reds and a buck, or a quarter, you give $4, I've also had better dealers give a quarter and a buck, ask for a red back

    still much smoother/quicker at $5 or $10

of course $25 is even easier, but not for my bankroll given how long and how often I like to play (pre-covid). post-covid, I might need to just up the bankroll

I think time is the reason they are getting rid of the All, Small Tall bet. Have you ever seen a ton of action when someone hits them all? Takes like 10 minutes to payout, maybe longer!

yep, and on a lot of the tables they changed the payouts, so with the lower payout I stopped playing

Rather than the payout, the time-eater at my local (back when there was real craps) was resetting after every comeout seven.

I was the only guy at the table still cheering comeout naturals.

For me, it's that I went to law school, not math school. But yes, for place bets, you need at least the minimum, and multiples of $6. The dealers are your friends when it comes to this!

I never ever feel dealer tips are wasted.. money well spent.. everybody gotta eat.
best cheerleaders you can buy. Win/Win, Baby!

yeah 15 sux, but 25 steep. why not split the dif @ 20?

and I think we can all do our part by GTFOOT when they pull that no grandfather crap, that irks me almost as much as 6:5. Keep it classy...

Man I've never not been grandfathered into a limit before. I'd be fuming.

One time it was shift change at a casino out in San Diego and they told me to bet the minimum rather aggressively. Thankfully there was some players that had been there a while that stuck up for me "he's grandfathered in. The minimum shouldn't be fucking $15 anyway, it's 3am on a Tuesday".

They lowered it to $5 :D

Tight VP ,coupled with ridiculous table minimums. Not wanting to grandfather in players. Do I miss the old days and I’m only talking 20 years ago. Sheesh what the fuck happened to Casinos ?

@BigShot55 your absolutely right. I don’t wanna hijack this thread but the corporatization of Vegas has changed the very essence of the Las Vegas experience . I’m sooo grateful for having experienced Vegas of years ago.

The only good thing about $10 minimums at the crap table is that it is easy to get comped meals. Just playing pass line plus place the 6 and 8 already and an hour play usually will qualify you for a comped meal.

What hotels are getting rid of the A T S bet? I love it. Sure seems to be in play more than the Fire bet.
