I hope that they are prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. Sickening.

So I'm not a liberal by most definitions, but I'd fully support beheading those d&@ bags for killing an innocent animal.

I would not only support, but offer assistance as well. I cant quit thinking about this. I guess on the bright side they are locked up before they did something twisted to an innocent person. Someone that would do this is capable of nearly anything I suppose.

    Yeah, I hear ya.
    It's just so savagely evil.
It even made my wife cry when I told her the story tonight.

It's a terrible story. I debated whether or not to post the story myself. It's no secret around here that I have a soft spot for animals of any kind and these kinds of stories make me question humanity more than I probably should.

Unfortunately, these things move slowly and there are two sides to every story. Blah blah. I can't imagine any defense they could legitimately make and eventually there will be some form of justice.

All I ask here is that we keep things civil and relatively level headed. :wink2: Oh, that and no politics.

    Thanks!

I am staying at the Flamingo Hotel in Nov.2012....

I always enjoy spending time looking at the birds and fish around the habitat area. It was so much fun just walking around looking and finding
hidden places to sit down and enjoy the beauty of the place.

Most likely by Nov. the whole area will be enclosed to protect the birds and
the fish from us looky loos who will have to enjoy looking at them through
a fenced videoed wired area. I am going to miss out big time when I go there. Those innocent birds need to be protected from the wierdos.

The news said there may be a third law student envovled in this case.
The Animal lovers of the world will come down hard on those students
and on their family members. Just watch. They will be hunted down and
exposed to the world as killers. They will have miserable lives and will have
to go in hiding to protect themselves.

And they are law students, probably not the top of their class.

In the story you have to laugh at the the response of the school. "It's premature to speculate about any possible consequences; the justice system must run its course." Nice lawyer speak for they are in trouble. Lets see, witness and video evidence, the two should probably look at hiring good lawyers and not themselves.

    Happened near me too

A few years ago some local druggies broke into a zoo that cares for injured and abandoned animals and killed some innocent birds They were caught and prosecuted .These were not students, rather local dirt-bags, just another entry on their rap sheets.

Michael Vick did 2 years for the dogfighting.
And he had the advantage of being a beloved sports hero. But there are still people who don't even think "justice was served" after his 2 years time.

These ugly punks are certainly not going to be easily forgiven. It'll be an interesting case to follow, if nothing else. I'm trying to think what I would do if I were in their shoes (no, I'm not a bird murderer, I'm just speaking hypothetically).

I think their best approach would be to come clean completely, claim "caught up in the moment" and "drunk and rowdy" but acknowledge the attrociousness of the crime and show disgust at the situation and with themselves. They may as well (for show if nothing else) enroll themselves in some sensitivity classes and start volunteering heavily at soup kitchens and animal shelters. Their gonna need something more than "my Corvette just got new rims" to try and even slightly sway the public opinion.

Anyway, I'm just playing couch quarterback as I don't really want them to do what's in their best interest anyway. Seeing them locked up for a nice long vacation is just peachy in my book.

Being an animal lover, I've been avoiding this post. These are the kinds of stories that keep me awake at night. This one in particular, just leaves with a sick and icky feeling. I've always had too much empathy for animals. I don't even kill bugs.

So you'll have to forgive my extreme solution - an eye for an eye.

Having them pay the price for what they did is what I would ask for.
How traumatic was it for people that saw them come out with the head and body and -god forbid-any children that also saw this also. Just a horrible thing and something none of us wants to see again,

Can never understand what motivates someone to kill or hurt a defenseless animal. Drunk is no excuse.
