    Hello, all!

We were really excited for our trip this Monday as we had booked a cabana for the first time. Unfortunately we had to cancel because my step-dad has Covid (and my parents were supposed to babysit for us). Naturally we are bummed but just want him to be okay (mild case so far as he’s partially vaxxed).

We will probably not be able to reschedule until October/November and would like to stay somewhere with at least one pool open year round. Any thoughts? I know last year the CET properties closed all if not most of their pools.

I know the fall isn’t optimum pool weather, but it would be fine for us. I am trying to minimize my disappointment by daydreaming about my next trip.

    Thanks for any info!

Many of the resorts have a pool open year-round

I was at Bellagio in February. From Sadelles, overlooking pool, saw plenty of guests out there enjoying the sun.

If I could research, look at property maps, I'd seek out properties where the pool is south and west of any hotel tower. It can feel nice and warm in the sun that time of year. Shade would not be desirable.

And... October is excellent weather, can even be hot.

May give moving between properties a try

With the caveat that they shut down some of the amenities; for example, at Mandalay Bay, the pools are usually open year-round, but not the wave pool or the lazy river. But October is indeed a great time, one of the few periods of the year where the weather is nice and sunny, but not unbearably hot or unbearably cold.

We were there the first week of November and enjoyed the Aria Sky Pool. The weather is moving towards the colder months at that point and where you are able to sit and sun coverage of the pool during the peak times is important.

I hope rescheduling works out for you!

Let's hope they don't abandon me at the airport again!

If you go mid to late October you should be fine. I was at Mirage last October late in the month. The weather was upper 80’s. I’ve been there a few times in October and it’s always been nice enough to swim, at least at the warmest time of day.

Is having a heated pool the best indicator? Obviously they can close for weather related issues but I would think as long as it’s heated they intend to have it open as much as often. Or am I wrong?

Regarding Bally's pool, it is NOT heated and quite cold, even during hot months.
