B1B2B25B-08F1-4BB8-B65C-270CA2502752.jpeg Found some food at Public House again, over in Luxor.

Slotted around there and Excalibur. Lost some $ but finally played the new Planet Moolah and got a fun bonus!

Got my points converted and put toward the resort fees.

When I checked in for my flight, I decided to spring for the Big Front Seat in hopes of feeling less motion.

Tomorrow I’ll play some slots, maybe VP. I don’t think I’ll go downtown again although my Deuce pass is good until 11:30am. We’ll see.

Good! I like the lemon better than berry. Goes better with what I drink. Except for Bellagio cocktail, I avoid sweet/fruity drinks in general. They led to my worst hangover ever, which was on my first Vegas trip and which my friend still teases me about!

Ah, I hate the last day! My room overlooked the pool and as I packed I kept checking to see if the slide was open. It opened just in time for me to squeeze in a quick few rides!

I got my kids their souvenirs from the ABC store. I had a waffle sandwich at Bruxie (really good!). And I think I’ll have a drink at the Chandelier bar before moseying back to the Castle to play bubble craps until it’s time to catch a ride to the airport.

Great trip thus far! I used a different bankroll management system than last time and it was really nice to always have a tab on my $$. I haven’t had another big slot win but no big losses either. It’s all good!

    Loving your report, @miss_sonja.
Were you able to check out the Star Trek slots when you were at Venetian?
I had a good run on them a couple of days ago.
Wishing you great luck today.

    Farewell Las Vegas!

This was a fun relaxing trip. I did end up playing a few more slots (all losers) and more bubble craps (even).

I think next time I really want to stay at Cosmo. I just like that place so much.

I’ll do a post trip write up once I’m home with a real keyboard.

    Final thoughts...

First, thanks for following along! I really like doing a live trip report. It definitely helps me to document my trip. It's great to be able to get live advice - like on my last trip when someone suggested Le Thai for my question about a nice lunch downtown. I went back there for lunch on this trip and had the three colour curry--so delicious! And, it lets me take a little break from the action and reflect.

    Back to those final thoughts!

The big front seat on Spirit? Totally worth every penny! For the first time in years, I was able to read a book on a plane! It was so nice to have more space, to not be bumped by the person next to me, and best of all, to not get motion sick! Being near the front was so much smoother of a ride. I will go for that seat every time I can now.

Let's see....what else? Playing live craps is really fun and I can do it for about an hour to an hour and a half before I need to stop. It's like being on the edge of a cliff--exciting and terrifying. I cannot drink alcohol while playing live craps. Every time I played, I had water or juice. I know I would not be able to have the focus I need to track my bets while soused or even buzzed.

A $100 buy in is just fine for $5 craps. The Excalibur crew were funny and accurate and made the game move well. I love that a good dealer will quickly get to know your bets and remind you if you don't make one of your usual ones. I really liked that! Excalibur dealers did that, and one of the dealers at the Cal (an older woman with short curly grey hair--she was great--funny and helpful). I lost $50 or so the first time, got felted the second (and yeah, I know that usually means losing everything, but I did lose everything that I had intended to wager on craps that day, ok?), the last time I left the table up $16 after over an hour of play.

I've got a good system now with passline, odds, and placing the 6 & 8, with the occasional come bet to liven things up. I can now easily shoot the dice and hit the back wall consistently. Only sent one off the table once. One time, the guy next to me asked if I was going to take the dice. I was like, Of course!

An odd thing happened Monday night. I was coming back after seeing Absinthe and thought I'd stop in at Tom's Urban for their late night happy hour. Half off all drinks and app deals. So, I took at seat at a table in the bar. There was no host/hostess. I waited. A wait staffer passed me, made eye contact and said nothing. The same staffer did that again. And then a different one did that too. Nothing. No, "Can I get you something?" or "I'll be with you in a second". Nothing. So, I left. Next door was 9 Fine Irishmen, which I hadn't been to yet this trip. I wandered in from the patio to inside. There was live music -- SineRira--and I easily got a Smithick's from the usual bartender. Spent the next hour or so happily drinking and watching the drunk people dance. Got pulled out to dance by one of said drunk people, and yeah, all good! So, the weird/rude thing turned into an awesome thing.

What else....I spent some time at the Wynn and Encore casinos. I didn't really find games I was interested in there. They didn't really have many slots that l like, and of course, the table limits were out of my budget. I do love those properties though--they are so lovely.

Venetian was good to me with that Dancing Drums win! I took a video of the win and shared with my husband and kids:). Venetian is always sending me emails with discounted offers (like 25% off room rates) but they're still in the $200+ range which is more than I want to spend on a room in Vegas. Also, I would totally go back to Bouchon for breakfast! It was delicious and for what you get, reasonably priced. The coffee was amazing! I had two cups black and then two cups with cream. So good!

One thing I like about the Strip is how clean it is. The pedestrian overpasses start the day swept tidy. The areas around the big casinos are all clean and well-tended. It really is like adult Disneyland. And then there's Downtown. I went downtown twice this trip, and ... while I liked the Cal and Main Street Station, and I like the gambling conditions for table games, and VP, I didn't love the rest. I don't care for Fremont street. I don't like how dirty it is.

I also don't like the long bus ride (or Lyft ride--not much faster than the bus). I used the WAX on my first trip there. Getting back, I got on the wrong bus (an SDX??) and couldn't figure out how to pay so I just rode it back to the Strip. I took the Deuce the next day to and from, with a stop at The STRAT . I think I'd use the Deuce again, just because it was so straightforward and stopped enough so I could easily change my mind about where to get on/off. I doubt I'd stay Downtown. I like the glitz of the big resorts.

What else? This was my 8th trip, and if you saw my thread in the Comps forum, I'm planning another. :)

Oh, a woman asked to borrow my iPhone charger in the airport. When my flight got called, I told her she could keep it. My good deed for the trip.

Thanks for following along! Next time I hope to make a meet up happen. Still feel bummed I missed @tringlomane .

Yes! I found the Star Trek slots and played a little for old time's sake:). There's a new Star Trek slot, but it's not as much fun. Man, my husband and I played for hours on those old ones at the NYNY back in 2008....that was so much fun!

There were three of them and they were delish! That was the best drink of the trip by far. Not a comp, I was on the second level of the Chandelier bar in Cosmo. Very relaxing.

Hopefully we'll be able to meet up on a future trip. My late night plans changed dramatically when I found out Whiskey Down closed on weekdays. :( We were often out and about away from MGM until at least 2am. Sunday night we didn't even hit up MGM before bed.
