STAY away from Economy Car Rental/ Signature.. Big time bait and switch.

Just rented from them in Orlando. They requested I bring insurance DEC page and ID cards.. I did, they claim I don't have Loss Damage waiver, and refused to rent the car without buying their insurance. My insurance agent doesn't know what they want. I have full collision and liability.

I used an Amex Platinum to order they said they don't accept third party CC for insurance.

Just looked them up and they have a F rating with BBB and their reviews are horrible.

I see they have been investigated for this same issue, but looks like I lose on this one.. One reviewer said that he declined and they refused to allow him back on their shuttle to return to the airport.

This is a horrible company to deal with apparently.

It seems that the majority of the low-cost car rental companies in Orlando, Vegas, and other major tourist destinations have abysmal ratings on Yelp and BBB. I am surprised that there isn't more local regulation there to discourage these companies' antics.

Its their cars and their company, They can charge what they want for their service. you dont have to use their service as there are plenty of others.

Yup, not worth the problems by using the small local agencies or chains. You save some bucks using the cheaper local agencies but it may not be worth the heartache. Best to use the national agencies. You pay more but most of the time they are reliable and while you have to watch out for hidden fees you know what you are getting when you step up to the counters.

I usually book 2 different agencies so I have a back up reservation just in case. More than once I walked away from the original reservation.
