How do the liquor and beer prices at Stage Door compare to Walgreens/CVS? Are they competitive or not close at all in price? Even though we normally stay at Ballys I never even thought of going there instead of Walgreens/CVS for beer/liquor.

I too am curious about this. Got taken to 2 overpriced liquor stores by limo drivers last trip - thinking of just requesting stage door.

I'm not sure about the prices there but Stage Door rocks. It has to be cheaper there compared to Walgreens or CVS just because of the neighborhood!

Always loved a walk down to the Stage Door when we arrived in Vegas. The wife hated it but I always nip down there to stock up and have a couple in the bar whilst she unpacks.

Great atmosphere in there at times.

We buy booze there all the time, I am sure it isn't the cheapest in town but a lot cheaper than in the casinos liquor store

It's very similar pricing to CVS/Walgreens. I prefer Stage Door just because of the great atmosphere. I stay at the Flamingo, and always venture into the Stage Door for some cheap beers. The crowd is a little blue collar, but friendly

Neighborhood? It's next to the Cromwell parking garage on Flamingo--across from Ballys sportsbook...

Gold Coast has some of the best prices in town. They carry very nice wine too

I buy everything at the Stage Door since I only stay at Ballys. The store has many daily beer and liquor specials, I also buy my bottled water and snacks there. If I can recall 12 pack of 20 ounce bottles was $3.00. My favorite part of having the Stage Door so close to Ballys is the access from the Ballys pool to the bar for lunch and beers, many beers. Lunch time there can be as interesting as evening hours, the music is good, the beer ice cold and the clientele, let's just say it's The Stage Door.

I know the Patron I buy is only a few dollars more than I pay in Michigan, at least it has been in the past. Very reasonable and everyone is always super friendly.

Exactly, Stage Door is nothing compared to DT. Walk in the park.

Well, I have been in there many times after the sun goes down and with all due respect, it aint like Downtown. The fact that the bathroom has polished steel for a mirror instead of actual glass should tell you enough. But one of the many nights I was there I swear it was "Bring your probation officer night".

In fairness, it has been over a year since I have been there after the sun sets so perhaps it is a little nicer.

Now I feel I must quantify this just a little bit. I am by no means trashing the Stage Door. I absolutely love it there but at night it can be dodgy and not Downtown Dodgy. I mean you can genuinely get yourself in a jam if you are not mindful that you are a guest in a place where a lot of the drinkers are regulars. But how can you not respect a joint that will bring you a pizza right to your bar top so you don't have to stop playing??

The first time I walked in there was during the day. I had always wanted to try it out cuz it looked fun. I walked in and the first three songs I heard was something from Metallica, GNR, and Megadeth. The tunes lightened up a bit but you catch my drift. All I could think was "Things you will not hear at the Bellagio". The crowd was young and fun and it was LOUD. I played some bar tops and proceeded to have a really fun afternoon. It also didn't hurt that I hit a $1500+ Royal there. Back in the day the Royals started at $1500 and not $1000. I have actually hit two of those $1500+ royals at the exact same machine inside of three visits. The royals have since dropped to $1000 to start.

But once again, it is different there after dark and not in a Downtown way. Some of you may agree to disagree with me..... I am only basing this on direct observation and interaction.

I go there because of the entertainment (people watching) and don’t really care about the prices.

    P. S. I NEVER make eye contact with any of the other patrons unless they are people in my group.

With all due respect, the Stage Door seems to attract a certain clientele late--not reflective of the NEIGHBORHOOD, but merely the establishment.
    The neighborhood is fine.:headbang:

How would it be for a lone female VP player?

I'm cool with loud, the music is fine, I just don't want mosh pits or hardcore drunks....

It’s hard to explain, but I am more at ease in a dive bar like the Stage Door compared to a pinkie’s up bar at Bellagio.

One of the things I noticed, they always seem to have a “special” bottle on sale. Such as Smirnoff 750 ml for like $10. Do they still have the $3 Pabst beer and hot dog special?

During the day, no problem. I'd avoid night there, apparently. (I, too, an be a lone female VP player)
