Holy cannoli--a totally textual TR by "this fish" Spinette? Of course it can be done!
 
As a next door neighbor, sometimes I can't get enough of that adult playground we know and call Laaaassss Veggasssss!

This time, it was a straightforward exercise to book a rental car for a quick two-day hop to Las Vegas with all the greatenss that becomes of it. I knew a thing or two and was able (luckily) to avoid the monsoon on the way over and find a place to park over at the...right--the doing-business place of the LVA, or Las Vegas Advisor.
 
Admittedly, the LVA has weakened across the years, and it is harder to get value out of it, but I knew it was worth some money, and I was ready to get those few $$'s that would put me in the plus. "Hi," said I. "Oh," said the lady behind the counter. "'Here's $50, " said I. "Enjoy your 50 bucks," said she (cough-cough). And onward I went!
 
Now, I had a couple of great offers from Palms ($400 x 2), and the prospect of a $25 offer from Rio, so I thought what the heck and decided to come to the Shutters bar there and gamble on some dime-level video poker. Oof! I was in for $200 by the end of the hour and reeling badly. But nevermind! My budget that day was $2500 and a setback like that was, I hoped, just a quickie.
 
Off to Palms to get my $400. Not bad: $380 of the amount there and I was soon off to the fish taco place across the street. Ho-hum, wing-a-ding-ding and all that and BAM! dealt 3s on ultimate X there for a $400 winner! Woo-hoo! I was back to more than even. Okay, so off to South Point I go!
 
The Silverado Lounge changed names to some kind of racing bar. Okay, fine. How about the moonshine for earning X points? Yick! :yuck::vomit:
Abolultely disgusiting, so beware of this so-called giveaway. Anyway, I was there to cop a hotel room but after 2500 (=$2500 x 2) points, was unable! Casino rate at $95, but I could get a cheaper rate online. Moral: don't fall for it! Anyway, I pressed on after some bad deuces wild luck and walked out of there several hours later (with $500 "minor" in tow) up one or two hundred. Off to...
 
Emerald Island casino baby! Here was the actualizer. I am historically in the deep with them (until this post) and, with three very lucky slot hits at about $1,000 each, ahead at long last!! :headbang:It was beautiful: the red-hot chili slot there gave me $2,000, then the lion slot next to it for a $1,000 more, so I really got out of the hole there!
 
DOOM at the plaza, where I was staying for the night. It started well enough: a $200 four of a kind on bonus deluxe, then, even with hard hat, quick hit, and rockets bonuses, absolute destruction on the ball dropper machines (with the sage) I knew and loved. Oops--a minus $1500 there, leaving me with half my winnings. OOF--not good!
 
Then: a great breakfast at 4Q (and to cash--the "All Access Player's Club" isn't worth it anymore), and back to California it was! Thanks for reading! :wave:

Did you actually drink the moonshine or just heard people describing it?
 
Wow that was as fast as the fish pictured!

And moonshine in a proper manner is amazing.
