Southcoast/Marriott Rampart Walk

I will be staying Downtown and renting a car at the Marriott Rampart. I plan on taking the WAX bus up to Southcoast and walking over to the Marriott to pick up the car. It is a 2 week rental so the cost savings was significant enough for me to plan things this way. My question is: Does anyone know how the walk is between the two properties? Can you walk directly from one to the other without having to walk all the way out to Rampart Blvd? What if I have luggage with me, will that be a pain in the ass?

Suncoast.

I'd guess it is about a three-quarter-mile/not-quite-a-mile walk between the two. Out to Rampart, past Angel Park and back up from Rampart.
 
Thanks for the info, ken2v. I was hoping you'd answer as you know the area well...Marriott and golfing and all. :)

WAX bus up to Southcoast ?? I didn't think the Southcoast was on the WAX route..........
