Their website says the pool is open till 5 PM for normal people. But then they have an extra wristband you buy that allows you the pool till 8 PM. This comes free, if you rent a chair or cabana and it says it is in a certain private pool area.

I am staying there for a few free nights and it looks like they charge for about everything around the pool.

    I am confused!!!!!!

From what I read on the Luxor site just now...I think that there is an area that is open from 9am to 8pm that is available to all people who are staying at Luxor. There is another area that is open only to those who pay for a wrist band-$10. I didn't see anything about it only being open until 5 and then by wristband only after that. I am assuming that you are talking about this summer.

    From the site:
    ** Hours 9 am - 8 pm
    **Hotel Guests Free
Luxor now offers a wristband for purchase at the spa for use of the pool area. The cost of the wristband is $10 per person, children under 5 are free. All minors must be accompanied by a paying adult.

Luxor will also feature a Paid Access Only Area beginning May 14th. Guests may gain access to the area for the day by renting a cabana, daybed, VIP chair or regular chair within the area. Guests in this area will have a cabana host to help with any requests. Complete food and beverage service is also available at an additional cost.

During this time, the entire deck will be open from 9am-8pm. The 3 front pools will open at 9am, with the back pool opening at 12pm.

Guests not wishing to have access to this area will be able to get regular deck chairs on a first come first serve basis, or rent one of our South Cabanas at a slightly reduced price.

It IS a bit confusing. We have stayed at Luxor before but I don't think we have ever used the pool area. Don't know if this helps any.

From their websites it says guests are free. The paying is for visitors. I'm guessing visitors couldn't use it before, but now they can. Sounds like soon there will be a pay area with some extra amenities.

But, I'm never a big pool person in Vegas, but aren't all the hotels like this?

Ultimately they make no money while you are swimming so they are going to charge you for everything.

There is a free area, the South pool, the North pool is a paid area and 18+ as well and is open later. One thing is the rates they charge for cabanas, chairs and such is far less and the paid area is the nicer pool of Luxors 2 areas.
