I nearly spit my water out because of the image of boot came to my mind! I have plantar fasciitis and have had to use that clunky boot brace thing before!
I’m in the same boat of flying because we usually drive. And I think most of my questions have been answered so thank you and see u at the cosmo!

I check a bag on most flights and I fly 12-15 times a year.
I always try to fly non stop to reduce the chance of luggage loss or delays.
Probably jinx myself by saying this but have not had a luggage loss or delay in 8 years.

Glad to hear you're using one big bag. It seems the wiser decision. Don't pack your CPAP in it. It is considered a medical devise and exempt from airline pricing regulations. Use your CPAP bag. In the CPAP bag place your meds and dopp kit (tooth brush and stuff). If they lose your bag (very unlikely) it's just an Uber the next day to Walmart to pick up clothes for a couple of days and all of your really hard to replace stuff (like meds) are still with you.

I'm sitting on my couch, looking at my frosty lawn, thinking about a shower. :haha: I'm on my way soon. Don't even think about taking my Royal! I'm picturing a dealt one on those triple play machines near the back of the casino. :woot:

I’m here, my room was ready - I’ll try & post some pics. It’s the new one, nice!

I won’t take your Royal, sounds like they should have plenty to go around from everyone’s trip reports. You have to get revenge for the VMB masses.

    Time to play!

I know I am late to the party but FWIW I always pack my medium size suitcase in a larger suitcase so I have an extra bag to carry all my winnings in on the way home.

You can do it! I sometimes. though rarely, check luggage anymore and I was a classic MAJOR overpacker. I'm also a bit of a clothes horse and bring a LOT of makeup, lotions and potions, etc. that take up space plus work laptop and just lots of extra stuff for a 7 to 10 day trip. It can be done!!

I agree with tee6395 re: making your "personal" item not a tiny purse but instead a tote bag. You will not be violating the letter or spirit of the policy but instead will be maximizing it without going crazy, i.e., effectively bringing two large bags on board. I think your CPAP machine would not count as it is a medical device.

For my typical trip I take my Samantha Brown 2-piece set, which is a 21 inch carry on and the "doctor's bag", which is like a structured tote bag. In the latter I have my laptop, charger, bose head phones for the long flight players cards, coupons, magazines, snacks, and my liquid toiletries in a separate plastic or cosmetic bag. Basically, all of my random "stuff" goes in the doctor's bag.

I have found that when I brought 5 or 6 bottoms for 10 days I always wound up wearing the same 2 pairs of pants or shorts so for my upcoming trip, which is 5 days at home in Buffalo followed by 7 days in Vegas (including needing dressy clothes for NYE), I'm taking 2 pairs of pants and wearing one and probably about 6 or 7 tops, including sweaters, blouses and t-shirts. I'm wearing my "fashion" chunky boots and packing my casual shoes, flip flops for the shower, one pair of tiny heels that take up little space and my exercise shoes. One belt, one dress purse (with a cocktail dress for NYE) and including my casual cross body, if I have to, in the doctor's tote though I usually can get away with wearing it (though that is technically 3 items). I spend a LOT of time literally writing down in advance what I will pack. I've been using long subway rides the past week typing and refining the list on my phone and my trip isn't until the end of the month.

Also, it really is true to wear your heavy stuff. I get cold on planes so I might have a turtle neck under a v-neck sweater and I can take off one if I get too hot but once I'm in Vegas that's two separate tops.

It can be liberating to not be lugging a lot and especially if for whatever reason flight plans change.

I tend to collect toiletries and "stuff" while in Vegas so I have a tiny bag that I fold in the suitcase to check the liquids on the way back home. It's returning home so I care a lot less about checking anything. I just love getting off the plane in Vegas and GOING as fast as I can to my hotel. And there is ZERO stress during the flight about whether your luggage is on the flight with you.

All that being said, when my mom travels with me to Vegas in April she checks TWO bags so since I have to wait for her luggage I go ahead and pack and check a larger suitcase (25") during those trips.

BRAVA!!! :nworthy::nworthy::nworthy::clap::clap::clap: Seriously. Your list is where I'm trying to get right now for my upcoming trip. Spring/Summer as you know is even easier because the clothes are a lot less bulky.

Sonya - yes, time to party. Hope you got in ok

Hi Nittany, yes, it's the Flamingo. I really like their black/pink/orange/gray. They've done a great job with the renovations. Top floor, Habitat tower. Directly across from Caesars. 1-1/2 baths and very comfy bed & furniture.

It's really sharp Flowers, I'm getting very spoiled this trip. It even has a microwave which I haven't seen in Vegas casino hotels in a couple decades.

Sonya, time for a confession - I didn't take your dealt royal, but..........

Are you there, yet, Sonya? Pic of your final packed bag that you lugged with you? Did you get your dealt royal yet? How's your room? We're waiting...

Holy fucking shit! You need to fly to Vegas more often!

First tip: don't pack any underwear. You shouldn't be wearing any in Sin City anyway. :poke:

I am a "road dog" with a lot of travel... I can always do 3 days with a carry on, sometimes 4. Any more than that? I'll check the bag. Don't sweat it going to Vegas... they come out pretty quick. If you are stressed about it grab a drink from the Liquor Library to soothe your nerves in baggage claim.

In all seriousness... that's one reason why I fly SWA a *lot*. No change fees, and no baggage fees. Any higher fares I may have been purchasing were more than made up from those two perks over the years.

LOL. I did make it, barely. Kept @DeadManHand waiting an embarrassingly long time for me at dinner, but we had a nice time. Did not get my Royal... yet. But I tried. We lost a couple people to airports that dont know we have birthday shenanigans planned. Hopefully they get here soon.

My free room is not as awful as I expected it to be, although they did first try to give me room 411. This isn't my first (literal) rodeo!! Nice try. Look again. :haha:

I'm back in my room to get organized/semi-unpacked and them I'm going to hit it again. Think I should do a TR instead of this?

    Guide to packing:
Take half the clothes and twice the money.
Also, don't forget that a pair of underpants has two sides. That's why it's called a pair.

    You're welcome.
