Sin City reinvents itself, sort of: Vegas has millenial influx as it moves focus from casinos to nightclubs

A US gambling mecca's efforts to draw millennials and new visitors are paying off.

A third of Las Vegas tourists last year were millennials - those between 18 to 35 - up from less than a quarter in 2015, according to a report commissioned by the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority.

I saw this one on Vital Vegas. not sure I believe the number is that low....

Las Vegas Visitor Profile tidbit: Just 4% of visitors surveyed in 2016 said their primary reason for visiting was to gamble

Sort of glad to read they are catering toward the millennials.
In a few years the millennials will be bored and move on to something else.

It makes sense. So many have gambling close to home they don't need to go to Vegas to gamble. When I started going to Vegas it was Vegas or AC and that's it. It was all about gambling (and drinking) Now I'm 15 minutes away from a nice casino. I still gamble in Vegas of course but not as much as I used to. I go there with my GF for an overall vacation. Food, shows, weather, excursions around the area, strip clubs.

My son is 22 and went last year with me for the first time. He's a craps and blackjack player (like me of course) and has no interest in the machines. He's not really a "club" guy so I'm not sure when/if he'll go back.
